i just really really love this book. the characterisation of both jen and andy is so descriptive and personal. also the ending is spectacularly beautiful and i love that what starts being about andy ends up being about jen. it felt real and raw. anyone can find comfort in this.

this is genuinely one of the best books i’ve ever read. it was agonisingly realistic and the characters were relentlessly frustrating whilst being so honestly themselves at the same time .

i really enjoyed this book but it was lacking a bit of depth for me. also perhaps a bit too predictable…

an enjoyable Forster. Perhaps not as good as some others but definitely up there - great storyline and interesting characters not lacking depth

This was an absolutely brilliant book. The characterisation was so well thought through and they were fully fledged characters. The writing style was genius in the open way that it discussed the matter at the focus of the book.

this book explored the relationships of three people very well. i really enjoyed how personal it felt and the reflections between mother and daughter. as whilst predictable, were enjoyable to read - the perspective of the son also added depth!
