Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll
5.0
To be completely honest, I found this book a little slow for my personal taste. I'm used to pacier thrillers, which tend to hold my attention more. But I simply cannot give any other rating to this book. I was living for the not-so-subtle shade the author threw at The Defendant. I love that she never used his name. I love how, piece by piece, she dismantled the image the media back then helped construct of him as someone handsome and clever when he was nothing but a sad, commonplace loser.
Jessica Knoll, I'd give you a standing ovation if I could. I sincerely hope that many women read this book and that we all learn to trust our instincs and say 'no' and 'fuck off' not only to people that set our alarm bells off but also to those who are supposed to love us, but whose way of doing so is slowly poisoning us from the inside out.
