This was my first John Marrs book, it took a little bit for me to get into the story and find a connection to the characters at first. I wasn't really a fan of any of them for most of the book. But halfway through was when the storylines really became interesting and very twisty.
I will say, it was easy to figure out most of the twists and I found myself not very blown away by most of the one's I didn't guess. There was just so much going on and a lot of characters, so it was almost too much to be shocked by.
My favorite storyline was Christopher's, I've always loved psychological thrillers with a serial killer POV. I almost wished the entire book were based on his storyline, even though he was the most effed up character 😅
I really enjoyed the last 100 pages and I didn't want to put the book down. I overall liked the way the storylines concluded. I still don't understand the way the character's were so adamant that their every decision needed to be made based on their match. I didn't feel like that would happen to that degree in real life, but it is a neat concept. I overall recommend this book and look forward to reading more by the author.
The writing style was confusing to understand and it took away from the story. Also, some of the subject matter felt sensationalized for shock value instead of added excitement.
