Overall this book was good- it's about gay goth witches with devastating backstories and a demon to fight, it could not be any further up my alley in theory. And the writing is spectacular. However in practice i have two main issues: l cannot stand Nesbit and I feel like this is a combination of 50 really good ideas jumbled together in a heap that makes the story confusing to follow at times. Like I get it Nesbit has trauma and at the end of the day he's an edgy teen goth but he takes himself way too seriously, especially in the first half of the book, which makes it VERY hard to sympathise with him or even care about him at all really. I liked Brandy and Drea much more, and Dove to some extent but again she also takes herself a bit too seriously at times. So in summary- wonderful writing, I adored half of the main characters, really well written villian (even though I'm still unsure of its motives any further than just messing with people), Nesbit needs to take several chill pills and there is a combination of good ideas that join together to make the book seem overdone. I do recommend giving it a read though!

Oh. My. God.
I am just speechless.
Holly Jackson you are skilled but your days are numbered I have never cried so much in my life 😭 (jokes not a threat I promise) I love this book but it hurts me that Pip
had to give up Ravi. Lets forget for a minute how she murders a man and from what i gathered gets away with it,
THAT ENDING BROKE ME. And then that mental image of
Ravi crying all alone in the woods...
I can't I just can't. I need like a novella or epilogue or something that describes Pip and Ravi getting back together and their future. PLEASE. I would give my soul for it.

I quite enjoyed this story! You can get it for free on kindle if you're interested in reading it, it's definitely worth the read and as zombie apocalypse stories go, it's very entertaining. The characters do the sensible thing 9/10 times which is a relief.
