Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio
3.0
It was good. Quick, eerie, kinda fun. Liked the different perspectives. But that ending? I wanted to know how everything panned out. What was the backlash for the news article? Like… what happened??? One more chapter from Edies perspective would have cleared this up.
I Kill the Mockingbird by Paul Acampora
3.75
3.75 purely for bookish vibes. Middle grade/tweens. Love the love for literature. So many themes going on such as first love, friendship, cancer…. Book is about kids trying to get people to fall in love with TKAM
The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune
3.0
I was expecting House in the Cerulean Sea vibes. This wasn’t that. This was more ET meets Stranger Things.
- long chapters… they bother me okay? Personal preference
- writing was.
Very much like.
This and got a.
Bit tiring towards the end.
- Alex gives me pedro pascal vibes (here for it)
- love a good found family
- chapter before epilogue made me cry. Rating was a 2 but if a book can make me shed actual tears, it deserves another star
- some of it felt a bit rushed? Like it hadn’t been edified properly but… hey what do I know?
- I liked the whole idea that humanity just HAS to control everything they come into contact with (Why do we always have to question, cage, and fight? A good point made during the book.)
