So very, very good! This is an incredible m/m/m ménage story that truly worked out beautifully! Three very different men, all willing to give their all for the love they shared. This was an intensely hot story in many ways and well worth reading!

Well for a ménage book this all worked out pretty easily in the end. In typical Ms. Owen fashion though it’s definitely a case of HOT being the name of the day. Looking for some fantastic m/m sexy time, this might just have to be a must read. I marked as PWP even though there is some story here. Still most of it is overridden by mmmmm, yummy time.

Drew is a firefighter and loves everything about his job. Ok so maybe the randomness of a shift schedule makes it difficult to meet anyone, but he’s an adrenaline junkie and can’t imagine doing anything else. He’s got his own house and while he’s not out to the world he doesn’t hid his sexuality either. It shouldn’t be that difficult to meet someone. Of course laying in a hospital bed waiting to find out whether there was any contamination from the idiot not telling them there were hazardous chemicals containers in the burning building they’d just left doesn’t really seem the place to find prospects.

Scott is a cardiac resident doing his required time in the ER as well. Listening to the firemen talk is certainly amusing, but he really doesn’t have time to socialize. Between finding a new place to live to get out of staying at his parents place, and well being a cardiac resident, he barely has time to breathe let alone socialize. Still when the handsome firefighter ends up needing a ride home he might as well enjoy the scenery. The fact that Drew has an available room in his house, well he can resist temptation right?

Now I will admit that I liked the fact that this didn’t jump into an insta-love thing. I was pretty much expecting these two to end up in bed together immediately with how prolific Ms. Owen’s sex scenes are. Instead while it doesn’t take much time page count wise, they do spend a couple of months dancing around each other in story time. Scott’s little inability to make the first move quirk was actually kinda cute and adorable. It made him different somehow endearing. He had a backstory that mattered. Because lord knows that the fact that they were both essentially in the closet didn’t. I mean, while they didn’t talk about it with anyone, everyone knew and it never affected their lives in a negative manner. It kinda felt silly that there was such a pointed commentary about how in the closet they were at work.

Essentially this story is two novels plot lines condensed into one. First we get Drew and Scott falling in love with each other. They were very sweet and I enjoyed their story even if it felt a bit rushed with little to no controversy between them. Drew does try to push Scott out of his comfort zone and get him more involved in the world. It doesn’t really cause any issues for them though. I enjoyed their story together and I have a bit of a soft spot for Scott.

Then of course we get the same story told a second time. Which is where things went a little weird for me. You introduce this character Tony that Scott’s attracted to, you build it a little bit that this could be our ménage third, but instead Scott turns him down even though Drew seemed like he could be into it too. It was a strange tease to then do a 180 and introduce Eric into the mix.

Eric’s an EMT who while new to the area often does runs with Drew at the firehouse. He gets invited to join the boys’ weekly poker games and develops a friendship with Drew and Scott. When he starts looking for a new place to live the boys offer him their spare room, after all Scott certainly no longer needs it. Eric isn’t open about his sexuality either, having been kicked out of his house at 17 after it was discovered. It doesn’t take very long for the attraction he feels for both his roommates to develop into something more. He won’t be able to live there any longer. Not feeling the way he does. Of course he has no idea what Drew and Scott are planning.

This seemed like a cop out to me. I would have been much more interested in finding out how Drew and Scott would have worked something out with Tony solely because it would have been a different plot path than Drew and Scott’s getting together. Instead I get basically the same story told a different time. Wow, we’re all attracted, yeah let’s act on that. Lots of hot sex going on and not much else. Sure it upsets Drew and Scott’s parents when they find out but that doesn’t really change much of anything. I liked Eric well enough, but there wasn’t anything that different or appealing about him to make him jump off the page for me either. Scott is still my favorite.

Now, while I marked this as PWP the little bit of story at the end with Drew’s accident and the problems that result because of it do result in a little bit of story right there at the end. I enjoyed this part of the plot even if Drew getting hurt in a fire is certainly a predictable plot point. There was some real tension in the house and something they all had to work through together, something that upset the balance for all of them. I would have much rather this had occurred much earlier in the book and the recovery of the relationship became much more the focus of things. Something that could have potentially forced them to struggle to balance the triad instead of having it all be so easy.

I originally posted this as a 3.5 Stars rounded up to 4 in my head. Now I think I’m going to have to round it down to 3 instead. I enjoyed it while I was reading, but I think things felt a bit rushed ultimately and I didn’t get much in the way of development of any of the characters.

If you’re looking for a book with a lot of hot sex and some heavily smexy triad action, sure give this a read. I just wish there was more real plot and time spent with these three guys figuring out the balance amongst themselves.

Drew is a firefighter who meets Scott a doctor while he is getting checked out for some routine end of shift checkup. Scott gives Drew a ride home and finds out that Drew has a big house all to himself. Scott lives with his parents and has to commute over an hour and with his residency schedule it is tough. Drew invites Scott to move in with him and it works out pretty nicely. Drew and Scott become friends but each of them are attracted to the other. Until one day when Drew finally makes a move on Scott and they start dating. Things go great and they fall in love. A few years go by and a EMT Eric stops in the picture. He is in the same situation as Scott was. With all the extra space Scott and Drew have Eric move in. After a while everybody is attracted to each other. Drew, Scott and Eric find a way for all of them to be together with all the obstacles that are thrown in their way.

I liked this story although I felt that the characters needed a little more depth to them. There were great love scenes but at one point it felt like that was all that there was. In the end when things got complicated it didn't seem like to much of a big deal. Overall good story but I needed a little bit more.

I give this story 3 stars.

Wow. So there was a lot happening here
Spoiler
Fires
Car Wrecks
Shitty parents
Drug Addictions
Accidents
Relationship Issues
Did I mention shitty parents?
Add in a third that I did not feel was completely equal and I don't know what to say.

Definitely plenty of sex. Dear god. And plenty of I love yous also.
I liked the guys. I appreciated that they understood each other's goals and the shift work and the loneliness that is bound to creep up when you hardly spend time together. The guys were really good at communicating. I know no one like these guys. I love that they talked about everything. Little insecurities and their feelings and Eric. I wish Eric had...well I think we got Scott and Drew on their own for a good while and then added Eric and I liked him, but I didn't really get a chance to feel them fall for him. I think there was chemistry and attraction. Just wish I could have felt it.
Spoiler shame on drew's mother for cutting him out til he has an accident. I hated her. fuck her approval, she can shove it.

I could have used maybe a little less of the stuff at the end and instead a focus on them all falling in love and into a routine. I don't know, that's me. It wasn't bad and I did like them.

I wanted to like this, but it mostly read as a series of disjointed scenes with fairly stereotypical characters strung together to make a novel. The problem that the main characters needed to overcome only appeared in the last 20% of the book, and I don't think the author dealt with it satisfactorily. In addition, there's no actual closure for the one major issue the author reveals late in the story, although the ending is somewhat hopeful.

Enjoyed it, just had too much spice and not enough plot. I would definitely come back and try to finish it at some point, just wanted more plot and description outside of spice.

I didn't expect this book to touch my heart in the ways it did.
