This was another cute story and I enjoyed it very much. I listen to people tell stories on YouTube and when I like what I hear, I buy the book. This is definitely a book I'll be getting. I will share it with my niece and nephews and am sure they'll enjoy it.

This was such a sweet story that reminds you that change is not something to be afraid of, that there is beauty in it. Fletcher cared so deeply for his tree and was afraid of change but the tree expressed in their own way that it is okay and to enjoy the beauty of it.

Definitely a great read for autumn! I absolutely loved this book, and I think it will be one of the all-time favorite picture books.

Fletcher notices changes in his tree. He notices all the leaves change colors and fall off. He goes to his mother and says that there's something wrong with the tree. But she only says for him not to worry, and that it is a natural part of fall.
But more and more leaves fall off, and Fletcher does what he can to prevent it. But eventually, all the leaves fall off and Fletcher is sad. However, the next morning Fletcher sees that the tree is covered with snow, and more beautiful than ever.

The illustrations are great: colorful, and full of character with pastels/mixed media. The balance of text to illustrations is pretty balanced, and the story - while always best read by a parent/guardian - can be read by advanced readers with joy.

A very beautiful and sweet story. Fletcher sees that his tree is losing it's leaves and he is worried that it is sick. He tries so hard to make sure that his tree stops losing leaves, but it is autumn and is just what trees do.

Fletcher's story was so heart-warming and sweet. During his first autumn, the little fox doesn't quite understand what is going on. In an effort to save his favorite tree, Fletcher tries diligently to protect every leaf. Fletcher was adorable, and the art was absolutely breathtaking! I hope to read this to children at Storytime.

2022 review:

I have loved this picture book ever since I first read it, and I asked for a copy for Christmas when I was sixteen. This week, I got to read it for three fall-themed storytimes. All of the copies in the library system were checked out or requested, so I used my own, and it was really special.

My Thursday storytime had a lot of younger kids, and some of them lost interest partway through, although the adults seemed to enjoy it. This went over very well on Saturday, when there were more preschoolers and kindergartners, and I enjoyed sharing it. Fletcher is such a sweet character, and the book's gentle exploration of accepting change is perfect.
