This book was alright but nothing amazing. There were some very dark topics handled but it felt immature how almost everyone on the ranch had been through the same thing. I also thought it was a little cringey how immediately possessive Blaise was of a domestic violence victim in a crush way rather than simply taking care of her. I liked the ranch setting but the book just felt a bit immature and cheesy in parts for me.
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Gun violence, Physical abuse, and Violence

"I look back now and things I thought were romantic, it should have been red flags."
A cute story that was just a little bit too long for what it was trying to tell. Enjoyable regardless

While I did enjoy this, I wish I could have liked it more. I enjoyed the romance between Riley and Blaze, but it felt like we barely got scenes with them! The story was focused on the whole family so much of the time that the romance was pushed to the back burner. With that, the story was okay, I just wanted more from it.

The book had promise.
This book had a lot of potential - good premise and good plot - but the execution failed. The flow of the story and the development of the characters suffered from continuity issues, too much telling and not enough showing, grammar/sentence structure mistakes, and stilted unnatural conversations. Finally, too much of the storyline was focused on the secondary characters which made it difficult to get invested in Blaze and Riley’s story. A good edit would have helped make this a much more enjoyable book and warranted more than barely 3 stars.

Riley and Blaze
This was such a sweet story about an abused girl who Blaze finds in their barn. There is a flashback at the beginning to explain the dynamics of the main characters. It does have mention of domestic violence and a little bit of spice. It’s the first story of the Rock Springs Texas series and I have a feeling that each sibling get their own book. Going on to book 2 now. Enjoy
