It was a quick read. Pretty good story. I don't feel inclined to read any more by this author but I enjoyed this book well enough.

True Rating: 3.5 Lynsay Sands delightfully breaks the typical romance mold with "To Marry a Scottish Laird." Things move swiftly for the two protagonists (Joan and Cam) which, I admit, kept me surprised the entire read. While the book was swift in development I felt Joan and Cam had a softer partnership, which made for another nice change. Having read Sand's previous Scottish-themed romances (and enjoying them) I will say the increasing murder attempts against Joan was a staple I would hope to be flushed out by now. All in all "To Marry a Scottish Laird" makes for a quick sizzle with a dash of unexpected spice!

Thank you to Avon and Edlewiess for providing me with an e-galley for fair bookseller/ review purposes.

I was about to DNF during the first sex scene, I did not appreciate at all how the male character behaved. However, I decided to go through it and in the end it was not that bad

Realized 40% of the way through that this was the second in the series l and I had only read the first two chapters of the first book but it's fine. I didn't want to put a hold on the first book and then have to read that one and wait for this one to become available again. Is this going to bother me forever because I read them out of order even though it acts as a stand-alone just fine? Probably. Good exposure therapy for my anxiety or whatever in the hell you want to call it. Okay. Well. The book was good. I like Sands' humor. I liked it and would recommend it as a fun read for people who like historical romance. I hope I get to marry a Highlander one day
