A remarkably clear and sweeping portrait of 9/11 and how it affected everyone, from the passengers on United 93, to people trapped in the Pentagon and the Twin Towers, and beyond.
There has been much written and filmed about this tragic day. Yet, I feel confident saying this is the definitive book to read on the matter.

This is an exhaustive account of the tragedies of 911 with realistic narrative recreating the experiences of so many of those involved!
I assume some of the accounts are reconstructed from what was known in the aftermath but nevertheless it is truly tragic!
It is of course impossible to account for the entire catastrophe but what is presented is enough to torture the souls of all who listen or read this work and provides another view of those horrific events!

This book was a well done accounting of many different people who survived and died during 9/11. Many of the stories were familiar from documentaries and such, but many were new to me. The book spent a good chunk of time detailing the chaotic communication between airlines, air traffic control, and the military, which was interesting and horrible all at once. It was thorough and illuminating.

I could not put this book down, and I have read so many books about that day. This one is among the best. It also has the benefit of being written nearly 20 years after the fact as more and more information has come out over the years. It is tragedy and heroism, and by the end I could not stop crying. I attempted to read every name in the appendix, 30+ pages of the names of every victim from that day, but it became too much. Names I recognized, names I didn’t. All who have stories deserving to be told. Review to come.
