should have checked whether it was YA before i picked it up but it was a lot of fun. mildly slow in the middle and had a very YA ending but it was good!

Cute, wholesome!! Gwen was kinda annoying sometimes but not so much that I wasn’t rooting for her. I wanted more backstory on Bridget too!! Arthur and Gabriel’s love story was actually adorable, I thought it was the most detailed and found both Arthur and Gabriel really relatable!

I had no business taking this long to finish this book because it was absolutely delightful!
Gwen & Art Are Not In Love is a queer medieval rom-com. I first thought this was an Arthurian retelling but it actually wasn't, the story takes place years after Arthur and all the characters we know of, die.
I absolutely loved the different characters, their personalities and the banters that goes between them. Some of the dialogues were hilarious and the humour was just so perfect in my opinion. What I didn't expect though, was the sudden change of tone in the story. I didn't mind at all but I must say, I wish we had kept the pretty light mood throughout the entire book.
This was mostly a real comforting and cosy and fun read though and I'm so happy I picked this up now because it was exactly what I craved for and it did not disappoint.

What a cute book!!! I laughed so much reading it! Lex is hilarious, and they imbued all their characters with such funny dialogue. I think this is a great historical-ish rom-com that is more about friendship than romance or anything else. The medieval setting with knights and royalty is really fun, and I quite enjoyed following our protagonists, Gwen and Art. I love the friendship they form and how they help each other grow. It's a great enemies to friends arc.

I went into this book not knowing what to expect, and at first I was completely throw off like woah- I thought a different trope was coming into play. Luckily, once my brain figured out what was really going on, I fell in love with the story.

It was a light and happy story with a lot of banter and humor, but it also involved a lot of heavy and very real topics. To explain without giving spoilers, I’ll share a quote:

"To be truly brave, first you must be afraid-and to be afraid, you must have something you cannot bear to lose."

There is a handful of characters that are well-rounded and fully involved in the book, they all have very different characteristics that make for an entertaining dynamic.

This book irritated made, made me happy, made me sad, made me laugh, tugged at my heart strings, and thoroughly surprised me.

Was a solid 4.5 stars for the first 2/3 and then really lost me at the end which is a bummer.
