It has been 5+ years since I have read Leo. And I never got around to reading this alternate POV novel...until now! And I’m actually really happy about that because I forgot so much of the story that it was like discovering it all over again.
This is very early Mia Sheridan. And you know what? She was great from the beginning! He words flow so nicely and she has a wonderful talent for telling stories. This book fits the mold for the early new adult novels. Two broken characters (in this case, reunited after many years apart) who heal each other and fall in love. Lots of sparks flying and alpha male possessiveness. But good, emotional (and often tragic) stories/back stories that held my attention.
I have always enjoyed Mia Sheridan’s work and I’m glad that I finally picked this one up!

5 Rooftop, I like your face, tattooed back.. STARS..mmmm
I loved Leo the first book in the series but this book? This book is even better..not every author can write the same story through the eyes of another...but Mia Sheridan did it beautifully..being able to read a story you already know but keep me glued to it..such as Ms. Sheridan did..brilliant! I loved Jake/Leo in book 1 but my love grew in the first 2 pages of this book and I literally flew through the kindle pages in about 2 hours..I simply devoured this book and would recommend it over book one.. Don't get me wrong Evie was strong and not whiny and a fighter, all traits that help me enjoy the heroine..but Leo he can be my pussy (I mean Lion) tamer anytime...roar..and the epilogue put a frickin fork in me..I loved it!

Enjoyed this one a lot more than I did the first.
As always, with a book from the other main character's perspective, it was nice to see the reasoning behind things that were done, made the whole story feel more completed.

So good! A little less romantic and a little more Leo finding himself. At the beginning she keeps conversations and events almost exactly the same, but they diverge toward the end, so I'd recommend reading Leo again first if you have the time. Yay!

I absolutely love this book so much that I’ve read it several times. Leo and Evie are so perfect together it’s amazing how Mia Sheridan can write fictional characters to make people feel such emotions. This is the second story in the series, so make sure you read Evie’s POV first, because it will make a lot more sense that way. There is talk of child abuse/molestation, but it’s not graphic and is necessary to that specific character. Give this book a try, it’s wonderful.

I loved reading this story from Leo's POV! I liked getting a glimpse of what his life was like while he was away from Evie. I think I fell even more in love with Evie and Leo! And the epilogue was just wonderful! It was really great getting a glimpse into Leo and Evie's future!

The second time reading this one & I still love it just as much as the first time, which is always the same with Leo. It’s expected with Mia’s books because they are some of my favorites.
One of my favorite things is getting to read the male POV of a story I just read from the female POV. Of course I love the female POV because it makes me feel like I’m there & a part of the story. It always makes me feel like I become the female character experiencing everything that she does. But when I get the male POV, I get the story from a different angle. Seeing everything that happened with different thoughts & perceptions. He obviously thinks differently than the female but surprisingly not as different as you would think. It’s still the same great story, but now with more reasons to love the whole story.
I absolutely adore Leo, I always have. His POV always makes me love Evie even more because of how much he truly loves her. Every little, itty bitty thing about her, he loves. The things she might hate, he loves. It’s the whole-hearted and so passionate. The kind of all consuming love that is so rare in the world. That love that you hold on to & fight to never let go.
I love that the story wasn’t 100% the same as Leo, which made it even better. There were other parts that we didn’t see from Evie’s POV so I fell a little more in love with the story. Getting to see everything that happened in those 8 years from Leo’s perspective definitely gave more to understanding the complexity & realness of their relationship from day 1 until the end.

Amazing story!
Jake (Leo) and Evie's story is heartbreaking but beautiful. It's a love triumphs over all kind of story. The characters are fantastic. The sex/making love is hot and perfectly done. This book is very emotional. It has extreme highs and lows throughout.
