Great story
A villain you can hate. A kind and noble prince. A princess that is better at causing trouble than embroidery. A love that feels Shakespearean. This story had my inner child stomping her feet, sighing, and swearing(she is not supposed to know those words).

Cute book about a tomboy princess who has quite a bit of growing up to do. But she's getting married so that has to wait. I liked the fast pace of the tournament scenes and how it did actually move the plot along as opposed to just being the backdrop as I was nervous about when I first started reading.
The characters were good. I really hated some (Lionel we were supposed to hate, Galinor I just thought was one dimensional and boring. But Pippa liked him so...good for her I guess). Luckily she didn't stay with him. I think she would have been very unhappy after a while. Archer was much more fun and from the beginning it was obvious he was the better choice. Always remember, take the man who can challenge you, not who (in this instance) never come close to beating you in a horse race.

Loved it!
This book is so cute. I had picked it up before and put it down without reading due to lack of interest. I had it recommended to me so I started at page one and kept going. I’m not even sure where it went from okay to great. One minute I’m plugging long and it’s alright, the next, I’m desperate to know how on earth “happily ever after” will happen.
It had some sweet romance, nothing spicy, and there wasn’t too much of it. There was no language and I would definitely recommend this book.

There are so many men to fall in love with in this book that I think my knees will be permanently weak. There's Archer - the dashing, serious man who's station in life can never afford him the one thing he truly wants. He was my favorite.
Then there's Galinor - the knight who is trying to save Pippa from an awful fate. He's attractive and gallant and brave. Swoon.
Let's not forget the rest of the cast of knights from the various kingdoms who have all come to fight for the Princess's hand in marriage. But - I digress, this book isn't about the princes and lords. It's about Pippa, a princess who is waiting to see what her future holds. There is a man who is expected to win - and Pippa is determined to make sure that doesn't happen. She handpicks a knight and, along with her friend, Archer, does everything in her power to ensure his victory. But, it isn't as easy as that. Nothing is. And, in the end, is that really what she wants after all?
So, I may have read this book in one sitting. It is wholly girly, even with the fighting, and wholly perfect. Pippa is wild and completely likeable. Her friends are diverse and entertaining. This is a book that begs not to be put down and I obliged. I loved it so much that I'm already halfway through the second one!

I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. it is one of the few free ebooks I've read that makes me want to continue the series. it was light and breezy, definitely on the young side, but fun nonetheless. I was so-so on pippa (disliking her name didn't help), but I nearly swooned over archer. talk about a Hero with a capital H.
there is adventure, and humor, and romance. the ending was a bit cutesy, but it's a ya romantic fantasy...I knew what I was getting into when I read the description. I'm keeping this one on my kindle for future rereads when I need a quick pick me up, and I might just buy the next couple books in the series.

In the hope of getting out of marrying someone she doesn’t want to, Pippa convinces her father, the king, to put on a tournament for her hand in marriage. A little free-spirited, Pippa will do anything in her power to make sure the gallant Galinor beats Lionel for her hand. With the help of her childhood friend and master archer, Archer, she’ll get into more scrapes to control her fate. Trouble is, spending so much time with Archer reveals feelings she isn’t allowed to have.
I picked this book up originally because I loved the synopsis and I really needed a pick-me-up after reading a different book prior to this. I was not disappointed and I actually lost sleep over this book because I stayed up into the late (or early depending on your definition) hours of the night reading this. I could not put this book down.
I really loved Pippa and Archer. Well, really I loved all the characters in this book (except Lionel, of course). I could relate to Pippa so much in her free-spirited nature. She got into trouble all the time, but she knew how to take care of herself. She was equal parts adventurous and resourceful. I’m glad that though she had a lot going for her, she never came off as spoiled or completely selfish. Archer was such a good friend to her. From the very first pages, I knew he was in love with her by his actions.
I really enjoyed the development of the romance in this book. The relationships are so sweet and I really liked seeing the slow acceptance Pippa had of her feelings. (No insta-love, thank goodness.)
The world presented in this book was so rich and vibrant. I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in it. There’s magic, dragons, fairies, and everything anyone could want in a fairy tale.
From the very first page, the story jumps right into the action. I really liked that I didn’t have to spend pages and pages waiting for something to happen. (The last book I read took forever to start!) There was never a dull moment in this book.
I really can’t wait to pick up the next book in the series. I’m excited to read the next set of characters’ stories, but I’m also a bit sad Pippa won’t be the center of it again (I really loved her as a character).

Fabulous
I love this author. This book is amazing and I love the twists and turns of the story along with a clean and sweet ending. The characters are great and I love how the series expands on the people you got to know some of in this book. Loved it.

This is a good book considering it is self-published. It needs more details and professional editing, but the story itself is good. For me, the main issue is that ending was very abrupt and needed to be flushed out; it almost seemed as if the author got tired of writing.
