Five stars for this winner!!!

We got our heroine Grace who moves back to her small town after being cheated on by her husband. There she runs into Jackson, the town grump and pariah who hates her family with every fiber of his being. The two of them don't get off on a great start, but they eventually form a unique bond, which then turns into a 'friends' with benefits arrangement. Along the way, they realize that they're not that different after all, and  their deep connection is more than just a mere summer fling.

This book put. Me. Through. It.

I felt so much pain, grief, anger, and love from start to finish. Grace and Jackson completely stole my heart with their story. Theirs was a rocky one, with many people in their lives who made their lives a living hell (and who I wanted to personally str/a/ngle) as well as their internal demons, but the ending made me go, "Yep, these two are soulmates for sure." I absolutely loved watching them fall in love with each other, heal together, and get their well-deserved happily ever after.

If anyone deserves all the good things in the world, it's Grace and Jackson, and I would like to believe that somewhere in another universe, they're living their best lives with each other and their fur babies.

So if you're in the mood to feel all the emotions in one read, this book is the way to go. And if I were to give you one piece of advice, once you feel the need to give up reading because certain characters are super annoying, don't do it (even though yes, they are annoying). You can take a break, but pick it back up. Everything will all be worth it for the last couple of chapters alone!

Liked it enough. Skimmed parts of it because I didn’t feel like I needed to read all of it (like the flashback scenes for Jackson). Glad that there was some decent character development for Mike & Loretta because they were rough. I wanted a better ending for Autumn ☹️

Such an emotional rollercoaster! I will definitely be re-reading at some point. Loved the characters

This book was full of absolute heartbreak! I cried so much throughout the story. I cried for everything Grace lost. Her marriage, her babies, everything. She grew into a stronger, more amazing woman by the end. She deserved all good things as she showed so much grace and compassion to even those who didn't deserve it. While I may not be a Christian, her faith, in spite of everything that happened, while it wavered, she still held fast to it. That's admirable as we all have to believe in something greater than ourselves, whatever that may be. 

Jackson is just as broken as Grace is just in different ways. He showed nothing but anger and disdain for others because that's all he was shown. The town and the church really showed no compassion and no love. Something so far against what the Bible teaches. Yet when he finally was shown love, he opened up. I love how he grew. How he came to show small parts of himself. How he learned forgiveness and kindness. 

My favorite part besides all the amazing lessons has to be the relationship between Judy and Grace. Judy was a true sister. Accepted Grace and stood by her side no matter what their mother said and how the entire town was against Grace. Loyalty and unwavering love! That is a beautiful thing. 

Disgrace is an emotional one, so buckle up and have your tissues ready.

Grace and Finn are ending their marriage and selling their house after Finn had an affair. Grace moves back home to her small town to recuperate for the summer and focus on herself. The last thing she expects is a guy like Jackson Emery to change everything.

This book gave us a ton to discuss! Grace had to endure so much in her personal life and in a town where the judgment and misogyny runs deep, yet she was still so strong and resilient, and managed to stay kind and warm-hearted through it all. Grace's mother was awful to her, so judgmental and only cared about their "perfect" family image and other people's opinions rather than her own daughter's pain. She was infuriating. But I loved Grace's sister, Judy, who was so supportive and stood up for Grace!

The entire town is filled with gossipers and fake concern. Jackson is outwardly rude at first, but he's real. He's the only one not putting up a front of fake pleasantries and concern as a mask for digging for gossip fodder. He has suffered immensely, yet underneath his angry facade, he does care. He helps Grace realize her strength despite their families holding a decades-long grudge against each other. I loved Grace and Jackson's chemistry!

The author also explores family and generational trauma, how it affects raising children and its impacts on them, and how difficult it is to break the cycle.

And I loved the ending for multiple reasons!

This was my second book by Brittainy Cherry and I will definitely continue reading more of her work.

Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Heartwarming. Everything.

I originally started this book a couple years ago but never got past the second chapter. After giving it a second go I truly think the first time around was a me issue and not the book. I remember reading and thinking that I did not have the emotional capacity to read it, and I was right! This book had me tearing up, mad as hell,  side-eyeing my OWN momma, and yet hopeful at the same time??? 

Disgrace is centered around our main character Grace, who after separating from her husband after his infidelity has no choice but to move back home for the summer , which is unfortunately in the same small town her husband is from. There she is confronted with more secrets and lies than she ever could of imagined. Amongst the chaos of facing the extent of her husbands betrayal she meets Jackson, who is just as broken and lost after losing his mother and caring for his alcoholic father. In the midst of battling their own demons they find a way to come together. 

This story delves into the pain of familial trauma, loss and grief, and the ebbs and flows of finding yourself and what it truly means to be free.  It is heart achingly sad what Grace went through and how the people in their town treat the both of them. It made me furious to read Grace be belittled the way she was but I thoroughly enjoyed her growth throughout the novel. 

This was a great read and would recommend anyone looking to shed some tears and looking for characters who share crazy amount of chemistry. Brittainy Cherry is a fantastic writer and I’m truly excited to read more from her. 

I cried when Tucker died not gonna lie. I knew it was coming but it destroyed me, especially knowing the significance behind Jackson owning him. I hate when animals die! It made me want to put the book down  on the principal alone but I’m glad I got myself together just to cry again when they made a park in his honor!

god- this book was out of this world beautiful. like words can’t even explain just how beautiful and heartbreaking it was.

she is such a strong woman. she walked through hell on earth and still came out of it with a smile on her face. what the people around her did and said made me so angry. i never knew you could hate so many characters for how they treated everyone. i know her seven angels are proud of their mama for still standing on her feet.

jackson. he went through so much but still kept the last promise he made to his mom. he was an angel pretending to be the devil everyone around him thought him to be. 

they were there for each other when the other needed them. that is what true love and friendship stands for. you show up for the person you love.

and don’t even get me started on tucker. i cried so hard when i realized what was about to happen. he was a good boy

as for the people around them - fuck them. even if they got their redemption or forgiveness. the way the acted and what they said to both of them was cruel. especially finn

he’s the main ass of this book. i  can't believe he had the guts to cheat on my girl grace with her best friend, getting her pregnant and then trying to get her back. like f you dude

, her mom, his dad too. the last two had a solid character development at the end but it’s still hard to see past how they treated the people they were supposed to love the most.

but this truly was such a great book with a great story and development of it. everything felt right even at the low times.
