Wow!
What an ending!!! This book is dark and full of dangerous secrets waiting to be unraveled. Beau has the darkest secrets of all and Jane….innocent Jane. Hers are revealed and they are not pretty. She has endured a lot at the hands of others and yet she is still fiercely strong.
This book was sooo hard to put down and the ending leaves you with an oh fxxx moment. What happens to them? Will they live or die?
This book is a dark romance and has many triggers readers should be aware of such as rare, abuse, drugs and violence. The story is well written and the plot is laid out to perfection. The first chapter draws in the readers and leaves them hanging in the end with the ending that leaves you saying oh shit.
So if you like dirty reads and unraveling secrets, then this book is for you. I know I am hooked.

It was really good but I didn't check the tags and thought I was going to read a sweet little novel about a new caretaker helping an uncle and niece grieve

The whiplash I got from the leads having a moment and connecting and then Beau saying how upset he was about her abusive foster parents was too much. His need for vengeance felt forced in a way. The book just didn’t flow well for me.

It took me a while to read this book just because it starts out very slow. With that being said, I would definitely suggest continue reading as it picks up really well and keeps going at a very quick pace once it starts. I did not realize that this book is part of a series and will end on a cliffhanger so just be mentally and emotionally prepared for that!
