I’m rounding up from a 2.5. This book felt really clunky. I liked a lot of the plot points but nothing flowed nicely.

ngl I enjoyed this at least a little bit… but it got so confusing around 200 pages in so I had to dnf at 65% bc I didn’t wanna waste my time knowing there’s a book after it

Mindhunter, but make it sexy.
For anyone with a psychoanalysis kink. For anyone who prefers intimate dives into the psyche over event/action-oriented plot. For anyone with compassion, or curiousity, for the dark, and who is not afraid of (or opposed to) entangling with it. For anyone who ships Hannibal and Will and who’s favorite scenes are their therapy sessions. Or some variation of one of these things. If not, it’s probably not for you.
I read this while listening to the Gone Girl score, and I truly believe I couldn’t have picked a more perfect sonic landscape.
REREAD: WOW, this book is a labyrinth and the question posed to the protagonist at the heart is WHO ARE YOU. And the raw and brutal answer to that question PLUS the love(?) that coaxes it out of her is absolutely delectable to me. A true feast.
Also the way the two MCs dissect each other and turn each other inside out to get to the dark truths is something I wish I could read in so many more books, but I also get that this is a pretty niche interest and probably off-putting to most people so I will continue to hunt down scraps wherever I can find them like a beast. I would recommend this to none of my current reader friends.
In addition to my earlier list I think this book is for people with 8th House placements, or prominent scorpio in their charts.

From a romance perspective this is a big no, but from a physiological thriller angle this was really interesting and intense to get into the mind of killers. It was twisted and fucked up and i loved getting into these people heads and the unexpected plot twists that came with it.

I did not enjoy my time listening to this.
Yes, the premise sounded exciting, but the execution and the main couple gave me the ick.
They're sick.
Yes, kill the pedos but don't get turned on by the act of killing...?
That's cause for concern.
Yeah, idk how I feel about that...
I don't find the sex/sexual chemistry between them hot because this couple is kinda sick. Cause these two are not horny for each other per se... they're horny for killing lol.
And that's not very sexy to me.
Like... I don't want these two ppl to have sex, to be honest.
I like that they're killing bad ppl tho, so that's good!
