This book starts off reading like the Casey Anthony story with a Nancy Grace type news show scooping the defense attorney at every turn. The story quickly changes as the defense attorney is threatened to reveal his acquitted clients location and he is soon embroiled in another case which is closely related to his first case. A good lawyer mystery novel.

I love James Grippando; he's probably my favourite author but this book was a little off for me because there wasn't enough interaction between Jack and Theo. Also, I found Andie completely unlikable in the one.

James Grippando has really ramped up the action in Blood Money. The book seemed to start out with a Casey Anthony copycat case but it ended up being so, so much more. Grippando still has his legal edge but has added a bit of serial killer thriller to go along with it. His best Jack Swyteck yet!

Natural comparisons to Casey Anthony abound in this story, both in the basis of the case and in the sensationalist takes of news networks on the trial. But a deeper, even somehow darker mystery unfolds in this action packed tale. While there are some loose threads I either missed getting wrapped up or were left on the floor entirely, this is still a mile a minute novel that fans of Grippando’s previous works will enjoy to no end.

After her acquittal on charges of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Sydney Bennett is about to be released when a young woman who looks like her is seen in the mob that has gathered, hatred whipped up by an opportunistic TV news personality, outside the jail. Almost strangled, Celeste Latamore is left in a coma, and her parents turn to Jack Swyteck, the lawyer who had successfully defended Sydney, in their quest to find someone to pay her crippling medical costs. In the meaantime, Jack himself is attacked in the same way that Celeste has been, and those he loves are threatened. What is the relationship between the two attacks? Who paid Celeste to show up outside the jail, and who is attempting to frame Jack for jury tampering? This gripping thriller had me on the edge of my seat.
