This was 4 stars for me, if I set aside the fact that Anna is a grown-ass woman who acts like a boy-obsessed tween, fully believing she's in love with a man she has only spoken to 2-3 times over multiple years despite his own actions/her best friend/everyone around her repeatedly telling her that he is a sleazy asshole...Anna was very annoying, especially in the beginning. I mean, who tf quits her job in the hope that some guy in senior management will finally go on a date with her; a boss with whom she has never had a substantial conversation over several years, and who has not only never once even remembered her name but obviously does not care at all about you or your job???
ANYWAY, I think if the assholery of said boss (Craig) had been more stealthy, and if Anna and Craig had spoken more than a handful of words over the course of several years/had a better working relationship, this could have been a 5-star review for me because I *loved* reading the progression of Anna and Marco's relationship. I'm just sad that Anna is supposed to be so incredibly smart and amazing at her job and yet depicted as this obsessed tween girl for the first 3rd of the book.
Oh, one last good thing. I did genuinely appreciate that Craig's fiancée was depicted as a sweet, friendly woman instead of a bitchy villain keeping Anna and Craig apart. And GOOD FOR HER in the end too! Craig didn't deserve her either.

Brainy, beautiful, rom-com
Any book that lets characters stay themselves is a winner to me! Enjoyed it beginning to end. Lots of good science content, smart and witty, while having that romantic comedy charm.

The pacing was off, some of the dialogue and description was weird, Anna was pushing that awkward nerd bit a little too hard, and Catalina was a terrible friend until the last few chapters.
In the end I did actually like it. From 40% on I was really invested, I cared about the characters and what was going on. The pacing and world building (world building is still very important even though it’s a contemporary romance). Would I recommend it? Maybe yes maybe no. That would depend on how much you enjoy trashy romances.

The Chemistry of Love is the first book I've read from Sariah Wilson, but it won't be the last. This book was the perfect answer when I was looking for a light, sweet romance with a lot of fun geek humor thrown in. It's a fake dating trope and the romance is a touch spicy but mostly sweet.
Anna is a cosmetic chemist who lives with her grandparents and can be a little socially awkward. She has been madly in love with her boss, Craig, for the last 2 years. They have had a total of two conversations and he doesn't even remember the first time they met. But Anna has built him up in her head to the most amazing man in the world! So when Craig announces his engagement at the company party the day Anna is devastated. She is drunk and sobbing on the men's bathroom floor when Marco Kimball, the CEO and Craig's half-brother enters. He suggests that they fake date, because he wants to save the company from the ruin that Craig's marriage would bring. He knows Craig is jealous and always wants what Marco has, which will be Anna. As Anna and Marco spend more and more time together it becomes very clear they are a perfect match.
I loved these two together, I couldn't get enough and devoured this book in 2 days. I will be looking for more Sariah Wilson books in the future.

This book is blatantly a rip off of the love hypothesis and it’s bad. She’s not like other girls: she doesn’t own more than one dress, shes so clumsy it’s not even funny, she is such a nerd about fantasy (but only the main stream ones), she is an idiot in regards to Craig, and to top it off she’s a terrible fucking chemist.
There was the whole section in the beginning which didn’t make any sense like no chemist would drink water in the lab! Especially out of a beaker that’s so fucking dangerous! And not to mention gross! And besides chewing gum is a universal no in labs, so why add a slight against the boss to be like ‘he doesn’t let me chew gum’ like duh, he shouldn’t that’s dangerous.
Clearly, the author does not have any idea what goes on in labs and that’s fine but why choose this subject. The only saving grace for this book was the chemistry between Marco and Anna (whose name really should’ve been pronounced Ana). She was just too “quirky”. The chemistry between them was very good. Would’ve loved to see it but instead there was a lot of vague horniness, which is awful. Anyway, in summary while it’s not a strong technically written book, and definitely a rip off of a better book, the MMC and FMC had some good chemistry.
It’s a book and I read it so 1.5 stars.

Very cute and easy to read. Definitely a typical chick lit book, but that is sometimes just what you want to read.

The Chemistry of Love is a fast-paced, super cute, nerdy romance that will suck readers in from the first page and leave them swooning.
The Chemistry of Love follows the story of Anna and Marco. When we first meet up with Anna, she’s completely smitten with her boss Craig. However, her crush might be a bit misguided. You see, Anna met Craig a few years prior to working for him and since that moment, she carried an unrequited torch for him. Sadly, when it came to Anna, Craig was completely clueless. That’s where Marco comes into play. Marco is the CEO for the company that Anna works for and whatever Marco has, Craig wants. What starts off as an experiment in attraction, quickly turns into more than they bargained for…
Overall, I found this book to be a quick and enjoyable read. I thought Anna was quirky and I loved her nerdiness. Sure, she was clueless at times and like a fish out of water, but I found her to be enjoyable and enjoyed her quirkiness. I thought Marco was a great match for her. Not only was he swoon-worthy, but he too had some serious nerdiness about him. Together these two kept me laughing and entertained and I couldn’t wait to see their story play out.
If you’re looking for a fun, nerdy romance, you won’t want to miss The Chemistry of Love.

I'm glad I read this in KU because if I had paid money for this book it would be a one star.
I wanted to love this, I was hoping it would giev Ali Hazelwood vibes but it just really fell flat. I can only assume the FMC is supposed to represent somewhere on the autistic spectrum but it was borderline offensive.
We get it, you're obsessed with the guy, you're convince you're meant to be together, but do you need to mention it with increasing regularity as you start to fall for his brother? An actual good guy? It feels like this poor girl has been completely brainwashed because no matter that the guy she's into is repeatedly a dick, and that she even recognises she has growing feelings for his brother, who CLEARLY reciprocates it takes her forever to realise what we've all been screaming at her all along.
Don't get me wrong, I love a little mutual pining, some "they like each other but don't realise it" but this was dragged out far too long, and moments that could have been beautiful, tense, longing suddenly had a bucket of cold water thrown over them in the form of the FMC mentioning the evil brother. So much lost potential just made me sad and annoyed.
I thought this was maybe a debut novel, but having seen that the author has a lot of other books out I am surprised. I probably wouldn't try another book of theirs.

Fluff. Main character was super annoying. Still wanted to finish it.
