Some where good, some were bad, and also we gotta start taking the word “exotic” out of stories

Some stories better than others. I don't think all the stories delivered what the forward promised - - short stories with a story that grabs you and won't let go - - but still quite enjoyed some, less so others.

I got to the story by Jodi picoult about the 7 year old little girl that dies mysteriously of a fever and could go no farther. If I didn't have a pair of seven year olds myself it might have been different but I couldnt even look at the book after that one. May someday go back to it like when the kids are grown.

This was a wonderful collection of stories from a variety of authors. Some stories were funny, some were disturbing. Strangely, there were two about Santa Claus, but with very different themes.
I only found a few that were not fantastical to be odd ducks and I didn't care for them (in this collection or out).
This is a very good, thick book to take while traveling, as I did.

Very strange collection of stories - there were some that I enjoyed, but overall I wouldn't recommend to most people I know.

Like most short story collections written by various authors, this one was uneven. My favorite stories came from Neil Gaiman, Al Sarrantonio, Michael Swanwick, Gene Wolf, and Joe Hill. The others could be rated on a scale of "meh" to "snore."
Once again, I find Neil Gaiman's short fiction *so* much better than his longer work (see American Gods).

Overall, I really enjoyed this collection of stories. There were a few that didn't quite grab my interest, but only one that I just couldn't finish. There were several stories, though, that really did grab me, and that I had to take a break after reading, so that I could fully process and absorb them. Definitely a great collection, and I'm sure there's something in here for everyone.

A few stories were so bad I didn't even finish them. But a few were so good. Some are more horror than fantasy and truly disturbing.
