3.5 rounded down. Again, because some absolutely ridiculous behavior on the part of some characters.
Otherwise-
A good mystery. Strong female characters and attention to social problems.

I think it's official. Brian Freeman has become my favorite current author. Every book reads like an epic with great characters, plot details, action sequences and suspense. Highly recommend any of his books in the Stride series as well as all the standalones I've read.

Holy moly….I swear I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest the entire time I was reading this book! It was so easily eery and creepy and kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s 415 pages and I DEVOURED it in barely two days! The entire time there was just enough happening to keep me intrigued without having absolutely any idea who the “bad guy” was! The amount of time I gasped, slammed a hand down on the page, had to stop for a second was crazy!!

What a surprise! This was one of those books that I picked up for 1$ and thought it would be a nice dull read. Then to find out it was part of a series I didn't think I'd even make it halfway through. It turned out to be a great read with a ton of depth to the story for a typical mystery book. I might have to pick up another book by this author. Definitely would recommend this book it reads like a stand-alone.
