Logan is such a cutie and is such a major love sick fool when he wants to be. I also love that Grace calls him out on his bullshit too

I really liked Grace’s character development, and Logan’s, too. They work so well together – their chemistry is unreal. The plot was great and I’m really happy how things turned out. I feel like all the loose ends were tied up and I found myself rooting for characters I wouldn’t normally root for (looking at you, Ward Logan).
This is a must-read if you love hockey romances and are okay with some more complex, deep, and tragic character backstories. This book made me like Logan a lot more than I originally did in The Deal.
This book is a 5⭐️ read for me because of the no third act breakup and because I loved every moment of it, and devoured it in no time at all.

Definitely enjoyed The Deal a lot more. The Mistake felt way more like a YA book with some steamy scenes compared to The Deal, which dealt with some very adult issues in a more satisfying way. The Mistake was fine, but had a lot more potential. Reading it as a standalone would have been far more disappointing with a lower rating, but I like the characters in the series so there's a bit of grace given.
Logan's dad's alcoholism issues were wrapped up way too easily for someone with such hard-core and long-term addiction issues. Logan & his brother also didn't handle the whole issue well at all to begin with, pacifying their father with all his issues instead of pushing for him to do better. Like why??? I wish Logan had more of a reason for literally ruining his entire life and putting his entire fucking career on hold to be a layover for his brother? That didn't make any sense, it's not like Logan was an average hockey player with no chance of making a major team. And it's not like he would even take over the garage permanently as a career either. So he would be a whole two(+) years older with far more limited career prospects to show for it.
And considering Logan is called such a playboy, his sex was so vanilla. I definitely expected a bit more interest from him. But his adorable, fluffy, relationship side was very cute to see.
The story was overall a bit blah, and very predictable. I called Logan's ass out in the begining as he was pining over Hannah, no you don't like Hannah, you didn't even look her way twice in book 1. You're just jealous over your best friend's relationship and happiness.
Then the fact that he ruins things with Grace over his admittance of Hannah was completely eyerolling. Then it took just one conversation later for him to be all, duhhhhh I don't like Hannah....?? I like Grace...? It was so annoying. Then cue the second chance romance he doesn't deserve because he's an idiot.
Grace was such a boring character. Other than her rambling babble, she felt like such a flat boring character, who by the end I still feel like I know nothing about. I don't believe at all that Logan and her would have worked in the long run. She and her high school boyfriend split up because of long distance, she is 2 years behind Logan in school, and yet she doesn't have any issues with this aspect of their relationship? I wish their relationship felt more settled between them, because they didn't give off those vibes. More like a college fling romance for a couple years before you get serious post.
