This wasn’t my favorite book, but it wasn’t my least favorite either. Kind of meh. This book switches from past to present frequently. Listening on audio, it was difficult to keep up with as the timespans are only a year or so apart. Reader tip: if you can only focus on one portion of the date, focus moreso on the year than the month. In the very beginning, I was paying more attention to the month than the year and it made things confusing for me.

I'm super disappointed in this book because I loved None of This is True. The book dragged, and the only really thrilling part was the end. The timeline gets very confusing, especially if you're listening to the audiobook like me. There's a bit too much happening. The story of Tallulah before the night she disappeared (hehe) was pretty boring. Kim was cool, but all the other characters were kinda annoying. The characterization of everyone was very shallow, and some of their decisions were poorly written and mind-boggling. The conclusion of the mystery was pretty good though so I can't be too upset.

I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and was a little sad when it finished because the characters just felt so real and it just feels like there’s more of them but there’s not lol.

I definitely saw that twist coming from a mile away but it played out a bit differently than I had imagined. Regardless, it was still a lovely book.

Zach sucks, that’s all I’ll say.

i enjoyed most of this, but i found that the
extra twist that tallulah was kidnapped by scarlett’s family was not well executed. i dont really understand why they would keep her alive, or why they wouldnt just turn her in. it also was so sudden that she was found, reunited with her family and scarlett confessed.

however, i do think this is a pretty good basic thriller/mystery book

This kept me guessing until the very end! This novel had well thought-out and detailed characters, accompanied by a slow-brewing mystery. A solid piece of work by Lisa Jewell, and the narrator brought the story full circle. The pace was slow, but well-timed and includes lots of details that all mean something at some point in the story. Would definitely recommend this audio read if you’re on a road trip! It received an Audie Nomination for a reason, and you won’t be disappointed!
