Wow, wow, wow. What a unique and different story. It’s been some time since I’ve read a Pepper book. I have a few sitting on my kindle that I need to get to and the one thing I forgot about her is, she can write one heck of a story! I was drawn in from the first chapter, it was hard to put down so I could go to bed. I loved how we get the past from Ren’s POV and the present from Della’s. Their story spans 17 years and we get stories of survival, family, friendship and love. Navigating through all of that at such a young age had some ups and downs, but those two did it together. Ren made this whole book for me. Della had a few moments where I wanted to shake her but she’s young and trying to sort herself out. The book ended at a good spot. I can not wait for the conclusion of their story. I’m sure it’s going to be a great one.

So this is a different setup that I've never seen Pepper do before. This first book is a tale of 18 years long mainly told from Rens past perspective. Dellas few chapters are marked with present tense. I had to face the fact that the first few years of this book seemed a bit to me unrealistic and just read the story for what it was. Overall, I'm hoping and thinking book 2 might be from Dellas pov and also hopefully all in present tense. Ribbon #1 was all of a history to learn about their past and the struggle they faced. I think I still need to continue to see what happens next.

Wow! Just wow! This book completely destroyed me. It was not an easy read. It was sad and heartbreaking, wishing things were different for Ren and Della. I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover from this book. I went through so many emotions while reading that I feel like I suffered everything along with the characters. I'm eager to read The Girl and Her Ren because I need to hope that some of these feelings I'm having will have some resolve and I will feel whole again. Quite literally an amazing read!
I have now also listened to the audiobook narrated by: Will M Watt and Hayden Bishop and they were spectacular, bringing these characters to life and making me feel all the emotions all over again. I'm left again, completely speechless by this story! Unforgettable!

This is so much more than 5 stars. From the first page to the last I could feel every emotion within my bones. This story is a part of me, one that I'll never be able to shake. It's intense and my heart breaks and fills with love on a continuous loop. It's so hard to put into words what Ren and Della mean to me. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

The Boy and His Ribbon is a magnificent book. One of those that stay with you, consuming thoughts and making you feel every single word. It broke me, yet I'll treasure this story forever.
The outstanding narrations by Will M. Watt and Hayden Bishop made Ren and Della come to life. They felt even more real. Their journey is filled with emotions, even when words are not enough to describe hardships and injustice adequately. It's heartbreaking yet beautiful because they share a bond like no other.
The storytelling and the character development are exceptional. Seeing such complex characters grow and listening to their nuances was a real treat. I have nothing but good things to say about this book, to the point that I'm not even mad about the cliffhanger. I'm ready to discover what comes next.

I loved this book so much! While it’s not your traditional romance, it definitely fits the bill!
We follow Ren and Della escaping the horrors of what was in their home. Pepper winters has a way to suck you into a story regardless of how “realistic” the story is. I experienced all kinds of emotions while reading this and I would do it all over. I loved that we got to see Ren and Della grow up and learn how to navigate the challenges thrown at them. The way they relied one each other but also the complicated feelings that emerged was heartbreaking in the best way.
This is a beautiful, angst, coming of age forbidden romance.
I loved this book so much I flew through it.

My heart......
Oh my gosh, this book. I could only read a little bit at a time because it hurt my heart. I don't want to give anything away but it was not what I expected.

"I will always love you, Della Ribbon. Until the day I die and even past that."
I'm speechless. Oh my god, I loved it so much. It is emotional. It is beautiful. It is heartbreaking. It is so real. It made me happy and sad and it broke my heart. It's like nothing I have ever read before.
This is a story I will remember until the day I die.
