This was a cute book. A girl with a plan meets a boy who wants none of that kind of thing and guess what!? They fall in love... don't worry. It's not a spoiler. You kind of get the hint by chapter 2. I liked it and it was playful and hawt in some chapters, but the end just wasn't enough for me to want to find out about two other characters (with the main two from this book making cameo appearances) in the next book.
I'd recommend this book, sure... but what is wrong with me that I was halfway through and wondering why there was no one getting shot at or kidnapped!? ;-)

Fun storyline, funny and interesting characters, pretty much exactly what I wanted to read this week.

I am most definitely not the right audience for this book. I'm not sure when I purchased it - it might have been free - but I'm starting to think the only reason I did is because I've enjoyed Gretchen's stories in the past. This one, though? It's not for me. Differing thoughts on society's excessive emphasis on marriage aside, the main characters are not even remotely likable at the start. I didn't see the point in continuing when there are so many other books out there that ARE my speed.
I'd think long and hard about this one before diving in.

This was a quick read with a decent story. There was humor and drama, but I wish the ending had been more complete--it ends without revealing anything about what the characters actually decide or what happens to them after the week of the wedding. The novel needed another proofread; there were several typos. As a warning, there was quite a lot of language, nudity, and some detailed intimate scenes.

The story wasn't completely terrible but the character, Lucy, just came across as desperate in wanting to find a husband which I found off-putting.
In saying that, this is not normally the type of book that I would tend to veer towards but it was free on Kindle. So giving the fact that it's not to usual taste it's a good book for what it is.

When Lucy is dumped by her boyfriend/fiancé of eight years she is more annoyed than upset. She has wasted eight precious years and is no closer to marriage or children so she asks her friends to fix her up with a potential husband. The set-up is due to take place at her best friend's (the supermodel of the title)wedding at a new age week-long ceremony. Miles is the groom's best friend, he too has just been dumped but in his case it is because he is dead-set against marriage and commitment.
Of course Miles and Lucy are attracted to each other, despite their polar opposite attitudes to marriage and commitment. Throw in snobby parents, a rapacious stepmother, rampant lesbians (as an aside are lesbians particularly promiscuous? Recently every book I've read which features a token lesbian has them sleeping around!).
I had no issues with the basic story - although I actually question who booked the hippy dippy wedding, complete with naked gatherings, because neither the bride nor groom appeared particularly sold on the idea. I enjoyed the writing and the issues with all the parents.
My issue was with the friends. First I had difficulty distinguishing the friends apart, second they just weren't friends. This is a common complaint of mine with contemporary books - the friends are more liked frenemies. They just don't like the heroine.
