269 pages, which is already less than I usually like to read (my preference is at least 300 pages) but somehow it took me less than 3 hours to finish the book. And I don't consider myself a fast reader.
I liked the story, but the relationship between the FMC and the others were a bit lacking. With Zayn it was good he's a bit insane so it kinda makes sense for him to say he loves her the day after they met. Sullivan was introduced a bit later in the book so she barely had a conversation with him. It was mostly with Kingston that annoyed me. There was barely any development between them, they don't really get to know eachother but Kingston still says he has feelings for her. Makes no sense. I would have liked it if a bit more pages were spent with them getting to know eachother.

Oh and for the people who want to read the series this book does not have MM but I feel like there were a few hints that there might be MM in the next book.

Not my favorite from Maya Nicole. The story is pretty interesting, but the male characters don’t feel real at all. Especially Zane. Even with his characterization/past he felt a little over the top. It probably doesn’t help that I listened to this one on audio because the male narrator made the guys sound kinda goofy. The plot could have used a more robust timeline and a little more fleshing out. Everything happens too quickly and the villain feels a bit cartoonish.

honestly, Zayn was the best part of this book

”I have ice cream every night. My freezer in my garage is full of ice cream... well, most of it. Part of it is for the bodies.”

I had to give up around 50%. Book was repetitive and had grammar issues.

Wren repeatedly thinks about being the best agent and having trained since she was young, yet she constantly screws this mission up.

Zayn is insane, a stalker, and constantly thinks of ways to try to trap or coerce Wren into sex from the moment he meets her. Everyone somehow still blows him off as “harmless”.

Kingston is a jerk from the get-go who basically owns the town and does everything himself because he doesn’t trust anyone.

Sullivan tries to kill her when she’s a fox and Kingston randomly decides to take her home with him thinking she’s a normal fox that just happened to be in his warehouse ceiling. Then when he catches her shifting he acts like he doesn’t have a brain and they have sex in the pool.

I am going to try to do this without spoilers!! I love this story so much!! Maya has done it again ladies and gents!! What’s not to love about Wren!! I personally relate to her struggles to find a work life balance. The MCs in this series are some of my favourites so far!! Zayn is the greatest and I instantly fell in love with his brand of crazy!! Believe me you will not be able to put this book down, it’s a page turner right to the end. We know how Maya likes to throw you off the cliff you won’t be disappointed!! Awesome beginning to this series so far.

An exciting new story from Maya Nicole!

Wren is a spunky character who starts a new undercover assignment she thought would be easy. Turns out it’s anything but what it seems. I loved her personality and the sassy badass that she is.

That story is told in multiple POV from Wren and her guys. Since Wren was introduced in The Arbor Falls series, her history is a bit more clear, but the guys are so confusing and I’m dying to know more about their pasts.

Well written with lots of laughs, great characters and world building, it was a great read. Can’t wait for book 2!

This was a great little story, a very different take on shifters, the story is fast paced with enough detail to keep you interested, the injection of gods is interesting and i'm presuming you get to see more of later in the series, the characters are interesting although i fund Zayn is just intolerable at times and feels extremely young,he did have moments where he redeemed himself a little, hopefully this carries on in the later books,i think the topic around him could have been handled so much better, the FMC is great and i like all the other characters, the world building is great and it sets the premise for a great story, i listened to the audio book version of this and i think that may also have let it down slightly, the narrators did not do this book justice at all and if i was to read anymore of the story i wouldnt pick the audio books
