I read this series as I grew up and I had never realized how quick the stories are! I love the interpretation of Sherlock, where he is insulting, patronizing, and also kind. Enola is so inspiring to me, and I love getting to hear her explore the world and how she wants to make change.
This book is the one that I remember the most, so I'm excited to listen to the others which I remember less clearly.
I loved the ending,

I forgot that she actually got to hear from her mother, which was heartwarming.

I'm excited to read the next novel!

I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn't get into it. I think the premise is interesting, and Enola is a pretty cute and scrappy character. But I just couldn't seem to stay interested. Probably won't try to continue the series.

I really hoped I would enjoy this as much or more than the movie, but honestly the feminist themes were just a lot more obnoxious here, and it just made the whole book less enjoyable.
