Pinky's Fair Day by Valeri Gorbachev
3.0
Pinky’s Fair Day is a cute story about a little pig named Pinky who wants nothing more than for people to call her a good helper. She wants that good feeling of gratification for a job well done, however she rushes through most of the jobs and causes mayhem.l, upsetting a lot of people in the process.
When cat and dog call on Pinky for “help” they end up doing many illegal things.
She thwarts their bad deeds and ends up being a good helper after all.
Great story with a nice message.

4.0
My First Atlas of the 50 States is a vividly illustrated book for children with information on all fifty states. Each page has information and illustrations about the state, including fun facts, the capitol, little blurbs about things each state is known for and biggest tourist attractions.
I enjoyed this book. It is a great learning tool for kids and a really great visual for road trips!

The United States in 100 Words by Nancy Dickmann
4.0
The United States in 100 Words was a fun and short way to learn a little bit about the United States. Fun and brightly coloured illustrations paired with informative captions make this book a fun and easy way to learn. I’d love to see more of these for other countries or cities.
Urban Aviary: A Modern Guide to City Birds by Stephen Moss
4.0
Excellent book to teach us all about the birds we coexist with within our cities. The descriptions were informative and interesting. The illustrations were colourful and soft, making them simple, yet fitting next to the more complex write ups.
Holocaust to Resistance, My Journey by Suzanne Berliner Weiss
3.0
Holocaust To Resistance is another great historical fiction with yet another view of how the holocaust affected one woman’s life.
Her journey from being separated from her family and bounced from place to place for Her own safety to coming to America and what her life was like in the years after the atrocity that was the holocaust occurred.
The impact this event had on her entire life is tragic. Her strength in-spite of it all is inspirational.

A Giant Dose of Gross: Discover the World's Most Disgusting Animals! by Andy Seed
4.0
What a great book! This book had your typical gross animals like skunks, vampire bats and rats; as well as animals I wouldn’t have thought of as “gross” such as beavers, white tailed deer and orcas.
Learning about the different types of gross animals was really cool. I think any kid (or adult) could learn a lot from this book, and get a good laugh or ewwww out of it.
The biggest takeaway is the worlds grossest animal. The human.

Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood: Berkeley Mews Comics by Ben Zaehringer

Nintinder... I actually laughed out loud at many of these comics. The mister potato head one was hilarious.
These were all borderline dumb and absolutely belly laughing good. This is the type of humour I enjoy the most.
The illustrate were really simple but definitely didn’t take away from the comics themselves.

I have always been fascinated with earthquakes and volcanoes. Fascinated and terrified. I found this book enjoyable and easy to understand. Educational without being boring. The bright colors and small text blurbs were very simple, and informative. This is a great learning tool for kids.
The Water Cycle by Anita Ganeri, Chris Oxlade
4.0
A simple and colourful educational tool to teach children all about the water cycle. These big topics can be boring and confusing but the layout of this book was a thing but. It was easy to follow and colourful enough to keep the kids entertained while learning.
Kind Mr. Bear by Steve Smallman
4.0
This was a beautiful story about the values of kindness and gratitude and their importance.
Mr Bear was a generous and kind man who helped his neighbors whenever they needed it. As time goes on they begin to take him for granted and learn the hard way how important it is to appreciate the people we love.
Beautiful illustrations and a short and simple story.
