Long Shot was such a heart wrenching emotionally charged book. I couldn’t get enough of it, I had my moments where I was ready to stop reading cause I couldn’t handle the pain Iris was going through, my heart cried for her.

I love love loved August! A genuine soul and a patient man. The way he handled Iris with care but didn’t treat her as is she was glass ready to break showed he knew she was capable of anything.


Gumbo / Iris - what a woman. What a character, she was clearly well thought out. Reading the internal struggle of he staying or leaving but regardless doing anything to protect her child was amazing. The fight / courage / resilience in her is unmatched ❤️

“You’d be center. I’d play you at the five”



You will cry / cringe / be mad / be happy / smile / and hurt for these characters. This is was definitely worth the read.
