First time I read the book in 2013 (I guess) and later watched the movie. Yesterday I reread it and here I’m with my words for the book.

CHARACTERS:
Personally I don’t like much Hazel Grace (though in movie the actress I adore) character, especially her way of hating everything... you are a cancer patient, I get it then what? You don’t want to fight for the life, I get it. But why there’s just a book that could makes you happy in the whole damn world!

Augustus, Ah man I don’t want to even talk about him. Where were he stand in all the book and movie thing? His character was a kind of bad-boy thing but out of blue in first second he got himself interested in Hazel Grace. Maybe cancer-cancer play the part.

Issac, yeah I do like his character somehow. Feeing really sad for blind guy :( life sometimes turned to be too much cruel. And then my most favorite character of the book; Peter Van Houten. Dude that guy really had a great story and reasons of his presence in the book-slash-movie thing.

STORY:
I don’t know about other people but for me a story means, a walk through characters life and their development. But all I find in the book was sadness and then end with a death. It was like writer ask me after every twenty pages that ‘Feeling sad?’ And if I refuse he came back again. ‘Now you’ll do.’ All the way story carries a book AN IMPERIAL AFFLICTION the one and only thing that bound hazel and Gus. Nothing else. Not their personalities, not their abilities, nothing but a freaking book. The trip to Amsterdam was fill-in I guess, there was potentional in Peter character and i think author should detailed it a bit more.

Then you had a beautiful dinner, champagne thing and if ends with Sex (perfecto) ideal thing. Later next day your ass kicked by the person you came all along so far. It was all in small parts.

This book disappoint me in so many ways and being a reader, I had thoughts of drop it and look for something good... more genuine and actual thing.
Story was so weak and carry huge loopholes all the way from start to end. Writer can put more of a person then a story thing.

One thing I never get ever in books... How could a girl bear look of a hot-handsome guy but on other side disgust by sight of a not so handsome person. Why? Why that time no one count it as harassed thing.
Anyways these were my thoughts on the book. I find it timely funny and interesting but it was a total of 12-15% overall. I surely not recommend this book, if anyone ever want to read a book please don’t waist time over it— there’s number of books out there so go and grab some other so you don’t get second thoughts. In hazel and Gus words ‘Book was okay!’

First of let me mentioned my most admiring line from this book. “All the things that make you different make you perfect.” Let’s begin with the review thing.
Story follows a woman, Stella who got F when it comes to intimacy and relationships so to solve the thing she hire a escort who have diploma in such things and that’s how the story begins.

Personally it was a very different plot and new to me and was very much excited about it. As I start reading it I feel myself indulge in the story. I love the character of Stella that how she handle herself from daily conversations with male.

Michael character was interesting too, especially his tensions of paying bills and words against his father. But most favorite character of the book was Quan, oh my god I like his character so much. I heard author is working I. Third book of this thing and it will about quan, I can’t wait.

Anyways the Kiss quotient thing, right… after what you call 68 pages, I guess my interest start fading from the book. Because left nothing but Sex talk and shit like that, there was no character development at all (sorry) it could be more interesting and well written, characters could know each other more but author decide something else. So the long story short— the topic book include ‘Autism’ which could be write more and sketch more nicely to demonstrate the society that how our anxieties destroys us Inside-out. How our problems should be solved by us not through hiring someone who teaches you about so much intimate things… how a woman who can handle millions of things can’t overcome by her anxiety.

Or it might not the book for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

3 stars, why??

Well there was a lot of things in the book I don’t like or was become the reason of me not reading it like a crazy person.

I really love the characters of both Stella and Will, including the side character of Poe (one of my favorite)

For some insane reasons I had a chance to read about CF and the treatment of it and the reasons how a person suffer from it, so it wasn’t the writing I expected from the authors (I guess)
Ok I’m not from those who’ll point out why they make Poe passed away (it’s natural, anyone can be gone) so chill out
Some points were so cheesy and fan-fiction kind of feeling that I was amazed that whether it’s a simple teenage-romance or a book detailed a serious disease.

Long story short— it wasn’t the book for me, I don’t like how they make characters so weird and the only effort of making reader cry over butts (never get this thing)

But the Ending was weirdest of all. Ahhhhh

P.S: Glad they portrait another undiscussed disease through movie and book.
Anyways three stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ because I really like some chapters of it and characterization too.

Ok so without going for long descriptions about This book and the story of #cath and #levi or #wren and #art or #reagen and #nick

Because I was a bit bored with it when it crossed the number of 300 (pages) 😪

Long story short— It was not what I expected it would be, the characterization was good but the story drop the essence on several parts and in the mean time left nothing but Simon-snow thing (worst they give references to Harry Potter)
Anyways from me this book got ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I like character of wren and Reagan very much, whole enjoy reading anxieties of cath too (but the author drag her social things to much) 🤯 there wasn’t any fandom thing you’ll see after some pages, which was a disappointment (for me it was)

I enjoyed reading this book overall and the point of getting into different times at a same time was great, Arthur less indeed was a struggler but more of a looser. I hate such people who spend whole life admiring others and not effort enough to put theirselves on top.

This book was beautiful and a lot of different stuff included and the only character I don’t like much was Freddy (the boyfriend of 9 year of Less) I hate him in several ways. Plus the couple romance was way too for me (or maybe I’m lacking something when it comes to gay romance) you can’t blame others when everything mentioned in the book contain entertainment and energy but the main Character of the book always roaming around one line that he’s going to cross 50’s damn I hate him so much.
Wish the protagonist exchange and then I’ll enjoy it more, otherwise less sucks.

Anyways it was a fun read and through San-Francisco to All the other places his journey was good but the same time a bit boring to me.
Thank you.

This book? Well let me tell you something, if you’re seeking some light in life and wanted badly to turn the current routine into the one which is right— that’s for you.
This book is more of a spiritual experience then anything in the world. While reading it, I feel this book (though I did skip some lines where the scenes were described) but this was a one sitting reading stuff.
The character of Momin was leading and the way he belonged to a family, kind of spiritual and working calligraphy over ALLAH’s name and Quran words, and his style of living life being in the world of game and glamour and then leading the right path. This was indeed a self reflected and deep thinking novel. The Momina (an actress) Character or Taha’s or Husnay jahan, every thing was beautiful and nicely written.
How being a human we keep running after materialistic things and instead of approaching peace, we wanted money and fame and power and that’s where the actual meaning of life lost. For me this was a strong read and during this book, I saw myself going through a lot of phases and I must say the writer did fantastic job.
Thinner Than Skin by Uzma Aslam Khan

Thinner than skin, a book follow people... Nadir; photographer who tried to make livelihood through photography.
Maryam (migrate in northern Pakistan) Ghafoor (waif off from his own people) Irfan (nadir’s friend) Rehanna (nadir’s girlfriend, a paki-Us citizen)

Let’s talk about good things first; Author put a touchy topic in paperback, which literally very sensitive and need to be heard. The people and different cultures in northern sides are too complex to understand, so it was a beauty to learn and to experience that such a variety can be witnessed in short time.

Now the start;
When the story starts, I was invested into it... maybe for 40-50 pages. The point of nadir upper level person keep bragging about real pictures of Pakistan and people on streets and the dirt, was so awful to read but the same time natural. So it made me excited to go for more.

But as I keep reading there’s time came when I find myself yawning and left with nothing but boredom and a quick hint of done with this book.

Reasons of me not liking this:

1. The writing style; it’s so boring and enough to make you go for slumber... long paragraphs and weird characterization of words, literally.

2. Characters; God I hate Nadir and Rehana the most, why every girl need to be portrait as a specie came from other planet? I mean what the nonsense was even going on with every character? There’s no common ground or reason with all people and it was like Author try to drag it or to convey something, maybe trying to get complex, but she utterly failed.

3. Too much going on; It was a story, so it needs to be in sequence, instead Author put every single thing she knew or had knowledge about cultures and religion and diversity. The thoughts and emotions and pain what not she put in it? I mean yes there’s bad which lead to the hope of getting a Better future but this much? I doubt.

And I think that’s enough for me to say this book disappoints me in many ways, I assume something brilliant and vibrant over this topic but Nahh. Nothing inspires me till end and it left nothing but a burden to get done with.

Thank you.
