So... I loved this book. Not gonna lie. I like pages as black as my soul.

But can we talk about Zade for a minute?
I understand the whole 'morally grey' thing (really, I do) but... Dude. I don't understand where the character is supposed to come from.
He's got this epic overarching need to rescue all the little kiddies from being fucked by the big bad guys, but then rapes the woman he's obsessed with? I mean-fine, if that's what gets you going, but tell us why?
Why set the company up and then turn on your own morals? I suppose "because he's Z and because he can" would be the answer to that, but... It doesn't make a heap of sense in terms of character arcs. That being said, I'd read it again.
Maybe I should, and maybe it would make sense a second time around, but for now I'm left a little confused.

Well. I thought no-one would ever knock Alex Waters off the spot of "Top Hockey Book Hunk of All Time"... and I was right. But Jake Compton comes very close. Like... I'm talking a whisker.

I bought this for my trophy shelf. That's all I'm saying.

Alex Waters and his big stick will always have my hockey hunk top spot.

Partly because he's not only a hunk but also a ridiculous nerd, and that's a-okay in any book.
And Violet. Dear, sweet Violet and her costumes.
This pair are utterly made for each other, and I will hear nothing else said about them.

Except that you also really need to read Forever Pucked, the entire rest of the original Pucked series, the All In series and the Lies, Hearts and Truths series too. For the full Alex/Violet experience, you know.

To tell the truth, I was marginally confused at first - we seemed to get the entire plot in about 10% of the book, and it left me wondering what else could happen.

I wasn't disappointed at all though. Slightly rolling my eyes at Lonan's little media call trick, but boy knew what he wanted. I also love it when we get to see characters grow throughout a series - looking forward to more little snapshots of them together in future books!

If you thought Before We Came was good, then believe that this little slice of perfection is even better. Rhys might even get the third spot on Top Hockey Hunks of all time.

And the dedication? ✨

This book. This. Book.
It's an enemies to lovers step-brothers college romance, but trust when I say it's probably one of my favorite M/M romances ever.

Scratch that. One of my favourite ever books.
I don't think I've ever wanted a couple to admit their relationship so much as I did with Ky and Avi.
And better still, there is ✨actual✨plot!!

Safe to say, I will be reading other books by this author too

I'm still not quite sure what I thought of this. I had heard the ending was shocking from other readers so wasn't totally sideswiped, but it was still a very interesting take on what originally seemed like a romance book.
I suppose one would call it a paranormal suspense novel? I've yet to figure out what was real interaction, remembered past and paranormal activity - perhaps that will be clearer on a second read through.
All told, I did enjoy the storyline even with the uncertainty of what was actually going on.
