The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

i definitely think that the struggles steinbeck wrote about were and are true. power makes ppl greedy and selfish leaving the majority starving and thats not right. however, he was way too wordy and had so many useless parts that could have been done without. it reads like he never actually experienced this himself making it really ingenious and trying make himself relatable or something. but it just wasnt it. and the ending???? wtf was that?????? im pretty sure thats not how that works???? or realistic at all???? overall it was annoying and pretentious and i hate that i agree with him on the status of corporations in america and cops.

i liked the majority of it, but i felt like the ending wrapped up wayyy to nicely. and it could have done with less half-sex scenes.

i liked the story a lot more than i thought would tbh. how she chose to reveal and set up the story was actually really cool i liked it a lot. the only that irked me were the characters, they were all so pretentious and self-centered. like that was just annoying, the ending sorta evened it out, though.

tbh it was refreshing from the mythology aspects im used to with rick roidan. i liked it a lot, the story line was really cool and i liked how the ending left stuff unsolved, but not in a bad way. and how there was emotional growth and not focused on always forgiving ppl who had done wrong. it was nice.
