I loved how multidisciplinary this book is. Through the lens of nature, you’ll also learn history, science, theology, etymology, social justice, current affairs, geopolitics, and more. The author reminds us to sit in the things that connect us all rather than separate us. It’s the perfect read for fans of Sy Montgomery, Margaret Renkl, and Robin Wall Kimmerer.

The structure and flow are so brilliantly delivered, and McCrae’s story is achingly captivating. A really beautiful memoir

This was chaotic, authentic, complex, and very spooky. I don’t know how this author managed to pack so much in, but it oddly worked. I did struggle a bit with pacing in parts 1 and 2 vs the rest, and while the audio cast brought the family saga/sibling dynamics pieces to life wonderfully, I wish I had read a physical of this one. There was much more to absorb in the writing than I thought there would be going in!
