What a read......
I have to tell you that at first i was suprised to learn the main plot of the story. And i found myself growing less enthusiastic about the book after that. Cause i had read many books dealing with the same main plot and, so i expected the same with this one too.

So the emotional roller-coaster ride that was thrown upon me, was just as unexpected as it made this book a 5 star read for me.

I could not put this book down. I had to see what happens to Carly, her daughter and all of her loved ones. I finished the book and looked at my husband and said, “well now that I’m emotionally drained for the day, what do you want to do now?”
Perfect quick read for me. I will reread it when I experience a book slump.

Really enjoyed this one, though it was a quick read. It would make a perfect beach read.

What in the heck did I just read??? Let’s just say, it’s a good thing the book description didn’t say very much or I would have never even picked it up. But...it was enjoyable enough to get through. A very different read for me. I was starting to feel annoyed by the story near the end but the ending wrapped up quite nicely and I found myself satisfied.

I loved this book; it was a completely unexpected delight. THE DREAM DAUGHTER, a time travel saga set in North Carolina, has fully developed characters that draw us into their lives and hold us tightly as we wait to see how they handle the ups and downs of their fate. In places where I worried that author Chamberlain would slow down (meaning I might skip ahead), she didn’t. She kept faith with me throughout the book. That’s such a generous trait for an author, to remember her readers are tracking details that may not conform rigidly to the story she wishes to tell. If you don’t love time travel, this is a classic fish-out-of-water tale. A mother must procure a solution for her desperately sick child. As in all quests, obstacles and surprises will transpire on the way to her goal. It’s a great tale with many twists and turns. From start to finish this tale grips the reader to the page, wondering how the story will end. - Suzanne R.

I ‘m not a science fiction fan, so had I known that time traveling was central to this story, I probably wouldn’t have checked this book out. But I would have missed a very good read. I relished that the whole set of events came together in the last chapter.

It’s 1970. Carly Sears has just lost her husband in the Vietnam War and finds she is expecting. Her doctor discovers that the baby’s heart has not developed properly and as a result, the child will invariably die when it is born. Her brother-in-law, Hunter, says he can help her, but she will need to travel to 2001, a time when surgery can be performed in utero.

Maybe even 4.5 stars because I always love a time travel book. I really enjoyed figuring out where this was going to go, and I was even a bit surprised with a couple twists.

Fun time travel novel - reminiscent of Time Traveler's Wife.
