I really enjoyed this! I got this for free this month from the Prime Kindle Lending Library, and it was defintiely worth it. :)

Short, but it felt like a very complete story. I really liked the twist on the Jack & The Beanstalk fairy tale, and the connection between Rion & Jack was great. Very interesting the concept of Jack's devilish red hair, and Rion's lonely existence in the clouds.

I did think that the prisioner part at the beginning was a little lengthy, as was their explosions of anger. It didn't really feel like them. Plus, it did seem that their relationship escalated a little more quickly than I would have liked, but part of that is probably due to the length of the story.

Overall, an enjoyable read, and definitely one I would recommend.

I like seeing another side to the fairy tales.  The village Jack was from, he is better off without any of them, family included.

I was glad to see the last of Adrian.

This hurt my feelings. A lot.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing but Jack's horrible life and past made me sad over and over and over again. And because of that sad life, the loneliness, the ostracism - it all drives him to desperate measures, hoping to find treasure high in the sky.

This is an entirely ingenious new take on the classic fairy tale, and I was thoroughly entertained. Andrews has yet to fail in bringing the emotional angst and the smexy smex. So despite my painful fretting throughout most of this book, I'm just grateful that Jack finally gets his well deserved happy ending.
