This volume was a bit of a slog to get through. Not because it's another intermission book like Vol. 4 was, although it is in some ways, but because the translation work is terrible.
In addition to the non-standard dialog issues I've mentioned in previous reviews, this one makes dialog even more difficult to follow by sometimes messing up pronoun translation. In addition, there are multiple cases where the opposite of the correct word is used. For example, using 'impossible' instead of 'possible.' The errors make some passages make no sense until you realize the error, but even worse is the fact that some passages could go either way, drastically changing the meaning of what was written, and not being immediately apparent which was intended.
I've noticed similar errors in prior volumes, but usually only once or twice per book at most. This book seemed to be full of them.
Fortunately, this is the last volume translated by this particular translator, so hopefully things will get better from here.
The book itself has a number of stories that aren't directly connected to each other aside from the fact that they are all obviously furthering the overall plot of the series. The result would have been a bit more entertaining than Vol. 4 if not for the translation problems.

this star rating is entirely due to Grillo’s awful translation. Mobilization felt like an improvement over Stratagem, but now we’re back to every sentence feeling like it was translated in isolation from the rest of the book. it is usually, though not always, possible to figure out from context what Grillo has misrepresented, but the amount of work this entails unfortunately makes the book something of a chore. nonetheless, for Yang Wen-li’s sake I have endured, and I’m really looking forward to getting back to Huddleston for book 7.

So between finishing LOGH Vol. 5 and now, I watched the entire anime (and gaiden plus all three movies), and I am no longer afraid to die, but it's really fun reading my favorite scenes from the anime again, and counting the differences between books and show.
The translation of this one was... messy. A lot of misattributed dialog, clumsiness in expressions that could have been avoided. I'm not reading these for the language, but actual errors make my brain itch a little.
Oh well. Also, laughing at the token effort to walk back Kircheis and Reinhard definitely being boyfriends.

I enjoyed this book, but find that the length of time I take between reading each volume causes me to forget some crucial elements. Luckily the author always finds a way to remind the reader. Yang has now left the Alliance Government as a rebel. Ending with El Facil declaring independence from the Empire. Let's see what happens next!

The plot is well paced. Yang faces interesting choice. Earth is a bit disappointing
