Much of Tim Gunn's legendary voice and style comes through in this book, just not enough for me. Some good tips, too.

Advice you've heard before, haphazard. Pictures would have helped.

Accessable, reasonable, fun and lightly campy. Tim Gunn, my favorite Project Runway figure (take that Hiedi), has written the hand book on how to develope and experiment with your own personal style. And it's true, you don't need to spend a fortune to look good, and Mr. Gunn knows it (and he always looks good). It's a fun and light read and I recommend it to anyone frustrated with thier closet.

Tim Gunn is one of my best friends who hasn't met me yet. I already knew this going into the book, so it probably colored my opinion, but the book was kind of like having Tim come over and go through your closet with you. Gentle, but stern. I had to hide the fact that I was keeping all three black v-neck sweaters from the book cover.

Look, I just cleared out 60% of what I own and I feel great about it rather than crushed by guilt and doubt. I think that's the highest praise that I can give this book.

Loved the mostly body-positive vibe throughout but this is clearly meant for folks more interested (read: obsessed with) fashion. At least in my view. Loved Tim's style though; felt like I was almost having a chat with him.

Excellent tips for someone like me who has a hard time dressing myself.

Alright, I admit it, I read these sorts of books occasionally. Reason I fessed up to this one? Tim Gunn is wonderful. He isn't trying to get you to buy some $600 shoes or purse. His emphasis is on the classics, something that a lot of people forget about these days.

This isn't a book about fashion, it's about being honest with yourself. And I can appreciate that.

I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. Gunn is nearly as witty on the page as he is on Project Runway and his philosophies about clothing are well thought out. I had expected this to be rather photo-laden, like the Lucky guide to shopping, but it is all text with a few line drawings. Which, in turn, is making me think more about what he is saying.

This was well-written and witty book. However, I read it to get tips for style but found it was very feminine-centric and did not get as much out of it as I would have liked. Still and entertaining book.
