Well, as it turned out, this wasn’t my favorite Mia Sheridan book. The first 2/3 was great! But the last third was...not. I don’t know what happened, maybe it was too drawn out? Too much drama? I struggled with the lack of communication. The assumptions. The on again/off again. It wasn’t a bad book. It just wasn’t the usual Mia Sheridan book that blows me away. I still adore this author and will continue to chip away at her back list.

I am a big fan of Mia Sheridan's work, and she did not disappoint with her latest book Ramsay.
The story is sad, infuriating, hopeful and yes, sexy. Mia does a fantastic job with the Irish temper!

Wonderful read

I'm awful at remembering to leave reviews but this was too good. I've loved all of Mia Sheridans books. Brogan is a complicated character with layers upon layers of hurt, growth, love, self hate, and responsibility that we see unfold throughout the story. Plus, an Irish accent helps

This books was my less favorite so far from this author. It's good but, I don't know exactly how to explain my feelings with this characters. They just don't got me like the other ones from this series.

Audiobook Review:

Another great story by Mia Sheridan! Her characters always have depth and complicated pasts that affect their future.

Ramsay is a story about stupid and selfish decisions made as teens that have long-lasting and dire consequences, but things are never completely as they seem. The main characters have to learn how to forgive themselves in order to love each other.

I love an Irish accent as much as the next girl, but the male narrator didn’t do it for me. I really didn’t like his female voice at all. I also felt like he didn’t match the MMC in my opinion. Mia Sheridan narrators have sadly been very hit or miss.

I’m a big admirer of Mia Sheridan’s work. Her stories tend to be unique, absorbing, and thought provoking. The beginning of Ramsay is strong, and I was quickly sucked into the story by all the backstabbing and scheming. I loved the pull between Lydia De Havilland and Brogan Ramsay, and the prospect of a relationship do-over appealed to me. I also enjoyed their role reversal and Lydia eating humble pie. Unfortunately, my interest began to wane as the focus moves from revenge to making restitution to the pair grappling with trust issues.

Ramsay is about the consequences of resentment and the power of forgiveness. However, the message is tainted by Lydia’s willingness to repeatedly forgive, excuse, and enable her loathsome brother. Stuart seriously doesn’t have one redeemable quality. Lydia is a smart woman who throws common sense out the window whenever her brother is around, and eventually I found it difficult to stay invested.

I really appreciated the quiet moments when Brogan and Lydia spend time together just getting reacquainted. Between their trust issues, Stuart’s interference and Brogan’s past, though, conflicts arise that seem rather convoluted and avoidable. Why is it so difficult for characters to talk to each other?

Brogan is such a gentle, sweet soul. He’s a bit clueless and insecure at times, but his generosity, passion, and even his stubbornness make him irresistible.

My favorite characters are Brogan’s loyal sister, Eileen, and his best friend, Fionn. Fionn is an Irish charmer and if you want a crash course on Irish slang and curse words, he’s your man. He’s absolutely worthy of having his own story.

This is a “didn’t love it, didn’t hate it” scenario for me. Ramsay definitely has an intriguing plot, and I’m sure many Mia Sheridan fans will enjoy this story.

I was pretty excited about this one because the stories that balance that thin line between love and hate are the ones with the most passion and excitement in them. As I started reading, I was immediately captivated by Brogan. Add in him being a Irish boy with the accent, my heart was stolen right away. I was expecting high emotions between these characters, but I hadn't expected the depth of everything that would happen surrounding them. It was a pleasant surprise and it made the story even more captivating.

I loved Brogan and his strength in taking nothing and making something from it, especially when it was meant to be for someone else. The unconditional love her gave to everyone was evident even when he was in his world of pain and hate. Even then, I could tell that Lydia would still be the one to bring him to his knees. I loved her and the fact that despite growing up in that life of luxury, she was more than money. She was more than the spoiled, vapid, shallow person she might have been as a teenager and that everyone surrounding her. She did so much for the people she loved without even realizing what it could cost her. I think they both needed to confront the past in order to really see the future. In some ways, they needed that hate and betrayal in order to find love and forgiveness.

I felt with these characters, I was there. I wanted to reach into the story and just fix everything. I wanted to shake them and make them realize that they were being dumb. It was one of those things where both characters were on the same page, but thought otherwise, keeping them from truly being happy. I laughed, I blushed, I wanted to cry. Mia just keeps giving life to these stories that make the world a better place. I will always gladly read anything that Mia writes.

Yet another hit by Mia Sheridan. This was a beautiful second chance romance. I especially enjoyed the first half of the book, which involved Brogan's revenge plot and the love/hate between he and Lydia. It was pretty hilarious at times and kept my really entertained. The second half dragged on for a bit, because it was more misunderstandings and stubbornness. I felt that the side plot involving the mob had a lot more potential and Mia missed a chance there to do more with it. It ended really easily in my opinion. That aside, I absolutely loved the characters she crafted here, even the secondary ones like Eileen and Fionn.

This was definitely an A+ for me and easily makes it into my top 5 Mia Sheridan books/heroes! Highly recommended!
