To sum up my feelings reading the individual books and the trilogy as a whole:

Seriously? Why? Wait,...what? Since when?

(flips back pages/chapters in search of relevant details)

Oh,... okay. I guess this is happening now...

Book 1: Apparently you can be an intelligent, interesting person who despises someone one week then magically fall in love with said someone and relinquish whatever interesting personality you might have the next week.

Book 2: Why do they keep forgetting why they’re even here? What’s the point of any of this? What’s the point of this entire chapter? Maybe this will be an interesting sub-plot...

Book 3: Nope. No interesting sub-plot set up. Any little payoff could (should?) have been cut anyway since it does nothing for the story. Oooh, maybe this is something? Nope, it must be nothing... never mentioned again.

Heroine says it best: “I’d been anticipating and dreading this moment..., but now that it was here, it felt strangely anticlimactic.”

It begins with........

I Love love love this book! This is about the 3rd or 4th time of reading it and it still holds my attention. (I will be reading it again !) You become thoroughly invested in the characters and their stories. I love how it blends history and science together and weaves it into the story.

Thoroughly enjoyable

My second reading of this trilogy and still page turner. Strongly woven (pun intended) world building and plot, characters that cover the spectrum, and enough magic to make this fantasy reader very happy.
A great read.

This is for the third book - such an exciting conclusion but I wish we got more story from Gallowglass!

Great book for those looking for a nice blend of magic and romance. Some of the characters are a bit misogynistic at times, but the female lead it good at rebuffing it…most of the time.

Great read, I sped through it,

Overall I really enjoyed these books but I also felt like they dragged in places and had unneeded moments.
