One of the best parts of book 2 was watching Livia and Erik’s world collide.. The way that the earth fae hated hated the sea fae, but were kind enough to hear them out. It really showed what kind of people they were! I was glad to ultimately see Livia’s parents turn out to be the good ones, and not a back fire where the earth fae were the real enemy. Everything played out way better than I could’ve imagined!

Next up is Jonas’s story… but man I think I’m gnawing at the bits ready for Tait and Mira. The few interactions we got. Holy.. I know their banter alone is going to be amazing!!

The Ritual

I thought I’ve read plenty of dark romance before. But man was this a different level and I absolutely loved every single second of this book.

The Ritual follows a Junior Blakely and Ryat a Senior . Two college students at Barrington University. To some it’s an ordinary college with ordinary students. But behind the scenes, It’s a university who run a society of lords, the most powerful men in the world, in which they devote their lives to violence and anarchy. They are required to follow a strict set of guidelines, first and formost abstinence from freshman year until senior year. And if they make it? Senior year the lords are offered a Chosen.

I was so so so obsessed with Devils night series, the dark romance, the secret society vibe, etc. I’ve tried so hard to find something close to that. And This definitely did the job.. I loved it so much. I really couldn’t put it down. Definitely not insta love more insta attraction and this book started at 100 which was so amazing, I can’t even begin to explain how obsessed I am with Ryat Archer.

“You were mine yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” He gently kisses my forehead. The tenderness a contradiction to his threatening words. “And you will continue to be mine forever.”

Carnage ARC Review

“Carnage is a prison. It’s where the Lords send their own that do them wrong.”

Meet the brothers who run Carnage Saint, Haidyn, and Kashton. Then the girl that ruined them when she left.

This was one of my most anticipated reads, and because of how amazing It is/was I want to keep my review a bit spoiler free.

I knew the Spade brothers were going to wreck me, and man Shantel did not disappoint. Along with the Lord’s series I devoured this book in one sitting. This universe has become my comfort and I hope it never ends.

“If you don’t believe in hell, the spade brothers will change your mind.”

I was crying, laughing, and kicking my feet the entire time. The way Shantel pieced this story was beautiful. I absolutely loved how she went back to how it all started. I loved how the small glimpse we received in The Ritual was re done but in the opposing point of view. It was Saint and Ashtyn’s story, but Haidyn stole my heart and respectfully he can ruin it. I cannot wait for his story!

The cameos?? I’m a slut for Tyson, so seeing him so much was melting me, I loved how full circle this book was like it answered so many questions I didn’t even realize were still lingering!!

Their individual nicknames for Ashtyn?? My heart. I love this book so fucking much, can’t wait for more!

When they said nobody escapes, they truly mean nobody escapes Carnage.

“I was born a spade brother, but I will die a husband and a father.”

This is a dark revenge romance, please check your triggers!

Caught Up by @liztomforde.author the 3rd book in her AMAZING Windy City series, follows Chicago MLB star pitcher Kai Rhodes and World renowned pastry Chef Miller Montgomery.

Did I mention Kai is a grumpy single dad who cannot seem to find the right person to help him take care of his son while he’s continuing his career in baseball? Enter Miller, smart mouth, sassy, tatted high end pastry chef who can’t seem to find her motivation to continue the life she’s worked so hard for. After accomplishing a huge goal, the pressure of the food world reallt settles in. Miller decides it’s time for a break and what better way to spend your break then with your dad, Chicago’s MLB head coach. Miller’s dad quickly realizes the best way to keep his star pitcher and his daughter through this tough season. Hire Miller as Kai’s temporary nanny for his son.

Man I don’t think thing I’ve ever sobbed, laughed, gushed so much while reading a single dad romance. They really are my favorite, nothing is more heart warming then 2 lost people finding that special person who essentially is their missing puzzle piece. If you love all of these tropes please please go pick this up you won’t regret it!

Besties. I said once and I’ll keep saying it. If it’s written by Penelope Douglas, I’m going to read it!

This read I kept putting off for so long because I wasn’t sure about it. But let me tell you it was an absolute rollercoaster. You know what they say. If your boyfriend won’t. His dad sure will

I finally picked up Say You Swear by Meagan Brandy (spoiler review)

Not only is this discreet version beautiful. But so is the story between Noah and Arianna

The summer before her, her best friend, her twin brother, and his two best friends enjoy a last hurrah at their families beach house before all 5 of them attend Avix University. Together. Then one night Ari finally gets the chance to have a moment with the boy she dreamed of looking at her in the romantic way she hoped and not the “she’s my best friends little sister way” he let her down tremendously. Breaking her heart right before the start of her freshman year of college. Struggling emotionally and ultimately heartbroken, Ari reconnects with a stranger she met over the summer. Noah who from the moment they met knew he wanted her, knew how amazing she was. Helped her and showed her what it was truly like to be loved, and wanted without having it his from everyone. But is she able to let go of the past? Let go of the boy she though she wanted all those years ago?

I’m usually a big slut for brothers best friend.. But man from the moment Noah was introduced I knew immediately I was team Noah. He was such a kind soul… Him and his momma. This book was so amazingly heartbreaking. But it had the most epic HEA.

The Sacrifice by Shantel Tessier

I absolutely demolished these three books. Whenever I pick up an interconnected stand-alone I usually read one book and then pick something else up and either forget to go back, or I just don’t finish at all. But MAN these books were so good.

From the first time I was introduced to Tyson in The Ritual I was immediately hooked. Even going through The Sinner I wanted nothing more then Tysons story, and let me just say it absolutely did not disappoint. Through the last 2 books there was so much talk, and speculation on the kind of Lord Tyson was, and the things he did. But we finally got to see all his secrets come to light. This book felt like an absolute roller coaster, it didn’t have much of that college vibe. (Probably because Tyson was no longer in college haha) but the revenge, arranged marriage, touch her and die trope *chefs kiss*

I think we all need a Tyson Crawford in our life… Tyson really deserved his happy ending with Lake. This couple made my heart so happy.. She was the stepping stone for his revenge, but she turned into so much more to him. And he literally killed for her.

My poor baby Lake, man Shantel really puts the FMCS THROUGH IT. She was really really really an innocent bystander and the things she went through made me so sad. But having a husband like Tyson she’s in great hands!

I believe these are the last “Barrington University” college dark romances (maybe for now? I’m not sure). There are 2 spin offs that I wasent planning to open, but I’m so obsessed with the Lords universe I need to read them asap. Carnage I have a feeling will be why choose or Reverse.. a Trope I haven’t ever read before nor was I interested in. But with this series I’m sure I’ll devour. So I’m so excited!!

As always check your triggers!
