As someone who’s been fascinated with the great apothecary Giulia Tofana, this book was a surprise to me. I loved it.
Exquisite by Sarah Stovell

Couldn’t get in it. It may be my adhd but first 10 pages need to hold me in a tight grip, otherwise I lose interest.
Voices in the Snow by Darcy Coates

To me Darcy Coates books are either a total hit or a total miss. This one is the latter. Yes tense, yes a page turner, it does make you wonder where the story will go but then resolving is a complete let down.

Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall

THIS was not a happy feel good book for me. Not with all the lost parents trauma taunting the heroine every step of her life and a toxic ex-girlfriend who is still in the friend circle and no one seems to be able to cut out of their lives.
SPOILER AHEAD
And then chapter 25 arrives (where I stopped reading and dumped the book) when Nick left Noel on their much awaited first date to go help Amber with a flat tire and then blamed Noel for feeling heartbroken.. That was so gaslighty and toxic. So out of character for Nick who was portraid as a high EQ man right up until then.. It threw me way off and frankly I lost all interest in the book at that moment.

I think this şs the first romcom I’ve read where the woman is the grump and the guy is the sunshine. And patient and caring and thoughtful. So thank you Talia, also I thoroughly enjoyed reading a story about someone on the spectrum. Loved it.
