I love the Lottie Parker series!

I started to read this a few years ago, when I had received an ARC from Netgalley (Sorry Bookouture and NetGalley!), but about halfway through the book, life happened… I had set it down for too long, I needed to start the book over and kept putting it off. While I still have my netgalley copy, I actually ended up deciding to purchase the audiobook!

I’m so glad I FINALLY picked it back up again!

Lottie is a mess and Boyd is so sweet…

4 Killer Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the fourth book in the Lottie Parker series... and confession time I didn’t read the three previous books, but the good news is I still really enjoyed this book and now I want to go back and read the previous three.... police procedurals are kind of a hit or miss with me and this was an absolute hit! What I believe made the difference was Lottie herself.... I absolutely adored her flaws and all.... she kind of reminded me of a female Harry Bosch my favorite flawed detective of all time..... they also have some very similar flaws as well.... so other than the female/male thing and Los Angeles/Ireland thing they’re practically the same person.... OK well maybe not, but close enough that I became an instant fan of this series as well....

Young women are disappearing with their last known location the train.... people are hearing loud banshee screens in the middle of the night.... after several bodies have been discovered and there is a Erie similarity to a murder/disappearance that happened 10 years ago.... people begin to wonder do we have a serial killer on our hands? The case in this book was very intriguing and quite dark.... even though you know who done it pretty early on, how everything unraveled was super compelling and kept me turning those pages quickly.... I was extremely satisfied with how things tied up in the end.... however there are some loose ends that definitely leave room for some interesting things in the next book.... I realize that’s a little cryptic and a little contradictory, but you’ll understand when you finish this book....

From what I understand from reading some reviews the previous books focus a lot more on Lotties personal life.... I would have really enjoyed that, I loved all the parts of this book where there was interaction between her and her children.... there was some focus on Boyd and his relationship with his sister Grace that I loved... I had a bit of a soft spot for Grace and I loved how protective and loving Boyd was towards her.... also there was Boyd and Lotties relationship, and from what I gather this has been on again off again throughout the series.... at least it’s not a love triangle, and I’m rooting for them I always love the HEA.....

Absolutely recommend to fans of the series, fans of police procedurals, and fans of fabulously flawed characters...

*** thank you too Bookouture and Net Galley for a copy of this book ***

Series with lots of books always worry me because they tend to follow the same plot, with small differences. Patricia Gibney has so far strayed from this trend, although she does have her elements that remain the same. Because of this, I didn’t find this book as genius as her first 3. I actually named some of the mysteries way before their reveal.

One thing I absolutely love about her writing is how she dives into dialogue without the need for stating who said every sentence. I really really commend her for this as too many authors feel the need to include useless text explaining who is speaking every quote. I’m still planning to continue this series to see what Lottie Parker gets into next.

I absolutely loved this series! All the detectives and their families are such good characters and the stories are always gripping, I never know what’s going on until the very end. Can’t wait for the next ones!

Please see combined series review on my blog at https://www.robinlovesreading.com/2019/10/blog-tour-broken-souls.html.

No Safe Place begins with an average funeral. It is far from that, however, when a body of a woman is found just as the casket is about to be lowered. Lottie begins her investigation immediately. As a matter of fact, there is a missing person and Lottie wonders if they are one and the same. Then two more women disappear, and there is a real concern that a serial killer is about and Lottie and her team are quite concerned that even more women will end up killed. Lottie also discovers a connection to a long-ago case, so she has to consider things from different aspects. Lottie herself soon faces danger in this fast-moving story in this series. As before, Lottie's personal issues and her home life are part of this exciting, tension-filled story. 4 Stars

I really enjoy reading the books in this series. The characters are like familiar friends now and I love reading about Lottie and her family.
Lottie is still a hot mess but she manages to solve cases and function at work. I'm not sure how she does it, but she does. In this novel, the case is twisted and there's almost nothing to go on so Lottie and her team have their work cut out for them.
I'm really hoping that we start to see some personal growth in Lottie in the next installments, she has been skating by for a long time and it's time she stopped.
I look forward to the next book in the series...

Another great addition to this series. although the ending felt a bit rushed, this was a great read.
